    None of the videos I searched on KZread clearly show what wires bolt up to which post on the solenoid. Trying to hook up the starter solenoid on my brother's 2004 Saab 93 2.0t

    No, on mine the starter is down behind the engine block, I'm not sure if it's different on the v6 though. But no mine just needed a bit of wiggling before it came out but I didn't have to remove anything else to access it.

    Does anyone know if there is any difference between starter motor from 16v and 8v 1.9 tid???

  • @gavinfromyavin

    @gavinfromyavin

    I'm not sure, I can't see why it would be different but probably your best bet to find out would be to call your local auto supplier, they'll be able to tell you what starter is correct based on your cars reg. Hope this helps!

    @@tukaruss8680 I used a rachet as like you say it's very tight. As for advice I do remember it was pretty fiddly to get it out, but if you wiggle things around enough it will fit, also there is a trianglular bracket that goes on the starter motor as you put it back on that was very fiddly to get back on. All in all though it's not a hard job just fiddly cos you're working in such a small space, good luck though and let me know how you got on. 👍

    Video will be coming, it was a wiring issue for the temperature sensor. Is your temp gauge working?

  • @eioleseda99

    @eioleseda99

    4 жыл бұрын

    Right now wires are connected directly without terminal box and at dashboard it shows correct temperature. Terminal box fell to the ground one day and was broken. That's why I connected wires straight together. But mine problem with starting issues was before temp wires was broken and later on also. Still I guess I will check wires again at this weekend. At next week I'll have new starter and hopefully changing it will fix my faulty car.

  • @gavinfromyavin

    @gavinfromyavin

    @@eioleseda99 yeah my terminal broke so I soldered the wires, once the temperature gauge was showing the right temp it started fine. Apparently the glow plugs only come on below certain temperatures so the sensor being broken meant I was getting no heating in the cylinder from the plugs causing starting issues.

    @@gavinfromyavin finally I replaced my old starter with new one. So far everything works now. Car starts with ca 1 second. I'm surprised, that best garage for saabs in Estonia couldn't discover that my starter is broken. My car was last year about 2 months there - there was some another problem too. Something with crankshaft. Sry I can't explain it in English. But hopefully my car will serve me for a long time now. Thanks a lot for the video how replace starter.
