Finally! Someone who actually removed the tire and not the whole wheel. Thank you for this!
Like other commenters I had a heck of time getting the second side of the tire back on the rim. I finally put the dolly on it's side and stood on the tire using my body weight and the soles of my shoes to press the lip of the tire around the rim. I wish I had figured this out with the first tire, my palms were pretty raw from fighting the rim.
Mine sure as hell don't go on the rim that easy.
Did your new inner tube not work and thats why you had totally different tires on at the end that were good?

@@ZE308AC Yeah, but they're not the same tires at the end lol
I think the comments below are more helpful than the video itself
Well that looks far easier than removing this strange looking pin that is through the Axel on mine, but where would I be able to get an inner tube from
the skin on my palms has literally rubbed off and the tire is yet to go on. i’m using a crowbar and a 12 inch screw driver and a large c clamp.
I have 4.10x3.50-6 tires. Rim size is 6”. Can I fit any 6” wheels? Will taller or wider tires fit the same rim?? Thanks.
Different wheels and different style tires at the end🤔🤔🤔
Okay, I could not get the tire back on over the inside steel rim. After a long struggle, I finally got a pair of pliers and snipped a slice in the rubber-covered steel wire bands on the inside rim of the tire, and was able to put the tire back on the rim. Inflated it. So far, the tire seems to have kept its integrity. Make sure that the inner tube stem is poking up through the hole before you do this.
Those weren't the same tires at the end.
Thank you for showing me how to change a tire
Ya should have explained how to get the valve stem back thru the hole whilst grappling with putting the tire back on rim.. probably the most important step for a novice (defined as one who would be looking up these instructions)

How do you figure out the tube size you need, is it written on the old tube? If not, how do you measure it?
@conduit64

The tire it's self will tell you the size, it will have markings that will look something like this "4.10/3.50-4" that is the tire's size, the numbers might be different but the format should be similar, just search for an inner tube that says it fits that size tire.
So he showed how to replace the tube then it shows 2 new wheel/tire assemblies at the end.
Putting the inflator onto a flattened tube pushes the stem inside the wheel.
Well it is not easy to put the tire back on. I tried everything and it did not go on. I guess I am lame but I'm just getting another one
Speaking from bitter experience: 1. Notice the relatively narrow rim on his wheel. Anything wider will require a professional tire person/tools or you'll trash the bead on your tire and all is for naught. 2. A bent type valve (type TR87) will work better. Notice he ripped off the old valve while removing the tire. 3. If possible, remove the wheel and fix in a vise, rather than fighting with the rotating wheel while trying to pry the tire on and off. Notice not only the different wheel/tire at the video's end, but also the power drill by his side. ;-) 4. Be sure to inspect the inside of the tire...sometimes the puncturing item doesn't show on the outside of the tire but is still sticking out on the inside and will immediately trash your new tube. 5. Inspect the inside of the wheel rim and the opening for the valve to ensure there are no sharp spots...again, hidden booby traps that will make it look like your tube was trash, when it's really the rim. 6. Best advice: given the relative price difference, the amount of hassle and the problem finding a decent quality inner tube anymore, I'd seriously recommend buying a decent quality tubeless wheel to replace your current one.

You seem very knowledgeable. I need help. I cannot pry the tire off, impossible. So I'm trying to dissassemble the whole wheel assembly. This went fine until I tried to pull the one side of it off the tube that connects them and is solidly attached to the other side. The piece moves outward but then gets stuck at the last moment and will not move. There's no visible reason for this, I can only speculate that the tolerance is so tight and there may have been some warping of the cylinder at the end, that's my best guess. I'm not sure you can help but if that makes sense and you have any ideas I'd be super grateful. It's actually not a hand truck but a platform trolley made by Dayton.
I can't pry the tire loose so I tried to disassemble the whole wheel, everything went fine until I tried to separate the two halve of the rim. They connect via a tube on one side, and the other side gets immovable stuck when I try to pull it out. I oiled it, no luck. Can't tell if it's designed that way or if it's an anomaly, but suspect the latter. Would be very grateful for any ideas.

Is it the inner tube valve that you’re describing?
@tycumbie788
3 жыл бұрын
@@electrabob No, it's the rim assembly. It's two main parts that bolt together. Since I can't pry the tire off, I'm trying to disassemble the rim, but the one half, which slides onto a tube that's welded onto the other half, gets stuck at the point where it's just about to clear the end of the tube!

thanks for the video. imo with the cost and purpose of the dolly, it would have been good if the manufacturer sells it with better tires. nothing worse than getting ready to use it and find out the air is gone.

I'm having the same issue, but in attempting to disassemble the rim I'm getting stuck as one of the plates will not budge as it gets to the edge of the cylinder that connects the two plates. I dunno if that makes sense. Any ideas?

A while back ago we used to purchase OEM Marathon tubes from Amazon - www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002VXO1OK/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 They used to cost $4.99 and were somewhat durable. However later they have increased the price to $6.99, and we looked for several alternatives: 1. Bought air free wheels from Harbor Freight: www.harborfreight.com/catalogsearch/result?q=airless+dolly+tires. They are not as comfortable, but last 6+ months of daily usage 2. Tried air free wheels on Ebay -www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-10-PU-WHEEL-orange-WAGON-HAND-TRUCK-DOLLY-BARROWWHEEL-FLAT-FREE-/391475586495?hash=item5b25c365bf:g:rLgAAOSwLnBXVKPI. - Complete junk! 3. Stumbled upon a mega sale by Lowes - www.lowes.com/pd/Milwaukee-800-lb-Capacity-Red-Steel-Heavy-Duty-Hand-Truck/50042444. Bought 30 dollies at $29.99 a piece and couldn't be happier!

@@kurt8783 Tire levers. You're likely to add more punctures with a screwdriver, which matters if you just want to patch the tube. Also, tire levers are much wider and less likely to dent the rim as you pry the tire off.

It ain't that easy.
Use this video to get the outer part of the tire on: kzread.info/dash/bejne/nomExZOlk6SXh5M.html My comment to the tire video: Excellent!!! I was struggling for 30 minutes with the tire before looking and finding your video, 30 seconds later, the outside bead of the tire is ON! No tools, no nothing except following your instructions seat the bead into the wheels deep section (I used the valve side to hold the valve in place) and push the remaining bead around the rim and on! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
