Excellent! was able to follow your instruction easily and tie a new tianqin onto the erhu after the old string disintegrated. Perhaps a little too high up the neck but next time will try a little lower. Thanks for posting, much appreciated.

Im planning to change my qianjin to a metal one, is it any good though? Does it have differences as compared to the traditional one?

You wouldn't want to scratch your Erhu with it, and it makes your Erhu sound metalic. Traditional one is better.

We typically don't replace bow hairs. It is too tricky a job. We send to the bow makers to do it.
Do you have a video for tying the qianjin on a JingHu?

Hi, Usually Jinghu qianjin is a metal hook, so no tying is required

@@PoulHansenDK So sorry, I missed your message. I think it is a dead knot, so you rarely need to change it. The reason why we need to change qianjin for Erhu is because there is friction between the qianjin strings and erhu strings, however for jinhu, because of the metal hook, you rarely need to change it.

How often should the qianjin be replaced? Whenever new strings are installed?
