On point max file permission is 666 for files and not 777 so when file permission set with umask u+rw,g+rw,o-r then it becomes 660;so umask become 006(666-660) which can be seen in output of umask command
Excellent explanation...

Question :- If I set umask as 555 and create a file. then my file’s permission should be 111 (-x --x --x). But why my Linux is assigning the permission of 222 (-w w -w-) to my file ?? please answer 🙏. because even chatgpt are not giving the right answer. please sir 🙏.

bro, 7-5 =2 which is write. thus 777-555=222 (-w--w--w-)

For folders, you need to subtract umask from 777 and for files, subtract from 666. Thus, for folders, umask of 222 means 777-222=555, but for files it is 444.
Is that permission apply for logs also?
