Great video Mark, the one thing I would add is after you pull out the 7mm bolts in the wheel well, you can gently pull the outside skirt forward with a little push and it will come off the wheel well assembly. This will enable you to pull the headlamp section completely out. We worked on our 2011 LTZ today and also learned that this bulb housing has a round gasket too that fits in the bulb socket section. We tried several times to push the bulb in, but the gasket had fallen out and it would not seat the bulb properly and therefore would not illuminate. We found the gasket laying near the radiator support and bingo, back in business. Thanks

Thanks Rob! As you saw from the video, we were learning as we were going along! My sister has since sold the Tahoe. So chances of doing one this era again might be slim, although one friend has a 05 Silverado. Take care and thanks again for the great additional information.

Thanks JB (& wife). I was on vacation visiting my sister and niece and this issue came up. I was able to babysit the niece &!fix it together with very poor tools. If we can do it, anybody else can.

Good video, Uncle Mark. I'm going to swap out all of the front bulbs (headlights low & high beam, DRLs, and fog lights) to LEDs on my 2013, which has the same front grille, lights, etc. as your sister's '09 model.

Hope the DRLs/signals and the headlights don't cause issues once you swap to LEDs. Issues could be flickering for the headlights or dim light. So LEDs are not plug and play. You might need to add resistors to the signal circuit since the vehicle might think they are burnt out bulbs due to their low power requirements. The CANBUS system might thing the bulbs are not installed. Do a bit of homework, and make sure they work before you put it all back together.

Eduardo Villeda, if correct bulbs, maybe daytime running light module is broke. Not sure if fuse for it of a circuit breaker. Might need to replace module. Hope you figure it out.

My 2009 Tahoe, they only come on when the truck is in gear.
