my new spark plugs have a caution on the box: "Spark plug gap is not adjustable" and these are SP-550 motorcraft

What is the gap for stock st? I got denso iridium spark plugs and it says that the gap is 0.4mm. will it run smooth?

Check the emissions decal inside your hood.

did you use a torque wrench to tighten them or just a normal ratchet

just normal ratchet. technically should torque them though

How can you tell if it was pulling timing or not? Are those the one step or 2 step colder ngk spark plugs

they’re step one colder plugs. i can tell it’s pulling timing by the ignition correction on the accessport going into the negatives

Most of the time I would watch your ignition correction on Cylinder 1 and 4 and if you are getting any negative corrections that would be pulling timing.

which spark plugs do you recommend i have a 2015 ford focus st stock, only have a boomba blow off valve, thinking of doing plugs since i just got it

i would stick with what oem calls for unless you are tuned. probably motorcraft iridium plugs if you have stock tune. i use ngk 6510 because i’m tuned and need step colder plugs

Do you need 2 step colder if your slightly tuned got a dreamscience imap on. its ots tune pushing about 270 bhp that's crank horse power not whp I've got iridium plugs in got stock every thing else 2015 st cheers

I get knock no matter what e30 on the nose I even try e32-33 still knock mostly at wot over 5k rpms

yeah i’ve been told in some cases it isn’t something to worry about but i’m not too sure how to fix that. i had some issues with too much e85 so i’ve been putting less e85 in and it’s been working out much better. check your long term fuel trims and oct adj ratio to see how the fuel is doing

A little negative corrections is okay. If you are seeing more than a 2.00 at WOT all the way I would lay off of it and speak with your tuner.

Do you do this job with a warm engine or cold?

@@philspaghet - Yup - figured so - no issues, removal & install took about 20min + 2 cold beers. Submerged the rubber coil boots in silicone spray & applied dielectric grease to boots & top coil wire plug. Probably should have replaced all 4 coils - maybe this coming fall.

not from what i can tell i don’t have knock count on on my accessport. if the blend is right there should be no issues
