You just saved me over $350 🤙
BTW..I did this work on a 2014 SKL 250 and installed a K&N filter. Perfect fit.
Hey, thank you for these videos! They’ve helped a lot. Not sure if you still have the car, due to the age of these videos but, if you do, please post more! One thing I wanted to ask is about the amazon links on your description, mainly the frost rotor. On amazon, it says it does not fit a c250? Now, I checked out your link to the rear rotor, those amazon say fit. If you scroll down, it will show that “Frequently Bought Together”, and those very same front rotors you recommended show up! But again, when clicked, it’ll say they don’t fit. Is this just a mistake by Amazon?
Thanks for a great video really helped out...I replaced with a K&N filter. Was a bit hard to get the pipe back on, but a few swear words and some muscle did the trick!!!

+J5 TACTICAL glad the video helped!
Would this be the same as a new K&N air filter?
Thanks !
How about c250 2009? Does it same air filter shape in your video?
nice and clearly explained

Great vid thanks! I got to the part where im able to change the filter but when I put the air box back in, only two of the screws in the back towards the windshield aligned, and I could not get the front where it’s connected to the hose to align

Hey if you don’t mind, how did you got about the one bolt not fitting?
bro i can’t disconnect the intake tube from the air box. i literally feel like i’m going to brake it if i keep trying. it literally feels like it’s glued. any recommendations???
Great video!! What's the spec/number of the torque screw? Is it a t25 torx bit?

+Saibu Shayer thanks! Yes, it is a T25. You can just hand tighten it. Just make sure it's snug. I'd say maybe 5 lbs-ft.
hey man great video! i am planning to get a C250 and i was wondering if you have encountered any issues with the car. thank you!

+Mohammed Rahman haha. Unfortunately, I didn't have my tripod handy. Believe me, it wasn't as easy as it looked!
Good video but, trust me, it isn't quite as fast or easy as it seems. I have changed this filter twice, including just today, on my 2011 C250 which now has 58k on it. I have had to dislodge the air outlet hose with a large flat-blade screwdriver as it gets "welded" in place after several thousand miles and then you will probably need to insert a cardboard box or piece of 2x4 between it and the engine block front to keep it pulled back because it makes it difficult to jiggle the air filter housing in place if it remains hitting the housing. Also, getting the air filter housing back on the plastic lug hinges located underneath the housing may require a lot of swearing and fiddling to get the screw holes properly lined up so you can reinsert the T-25 screws, especially given the tight quarters. With any luck, it shouldn't take you more than 15 minutes.

I change mine every 12mths. I've done it myself every time & it takes less than 5min. Not sure what you're doing wrong, it's simple.
@richardheilman6280

@@ozymandias7940 I and others aren't doing anything wrong. Read some of the other comments. It may take 5 minutes if you're lucky but a lot of swearing due to tight quarters, stubborn air intake hose, and necessity of lining up the alignment holes which are hard to see and locate, and posssbly some scraped knuckles. Not rocket science, but, indeed, consider yourself lucky if it only takes you 5 minutes :) My Ferrari, (with two airboxes) and Lexus take 5 minutes - not the Mercedes.

@@richardheilman6280 just deal with it, that hose won’t come off the air filter housing so I had to wedge and angle it to fit the bottom slots.
Thanks tho i was about to open another box inside the engine... With Probably disastrous results hahahaa 👌

K&N air filter is good also

+Clown Killer I don't use k&n filters because they have to be oiled. In some cars, this can eventually mess with the mass air flow sensor. It's also not as restrictive as a paper filter. Not bad if you want a little more sound or throttle response, but I want my engines to last.
@blackcode9174

I know you have to spray them with this pink spray. So your saying even if you follow the proper instructions and you let the filter dry. The K&N filter will eventually ruin the motor?
@CarFanatic
7 жыл бұрын
+Clown Killer it won't ruin the motor, but can foul up the MAF sensor, which then requires a thorough cleaning. The K&N filters breath better but at the expense of filtration. It's just not worth the gains on an expensive engine.
@blackcode9174

what about the cold air intake is that any good? please let me know i dont want to ruin my motor thanks
@CarFanatic
7 жыл бұрын
+Clown Killer what kind of car do you have? Cold air intakes can give some power, but it depends on what kind of car you have. Newer cars typically need engine tuning to get the most out of bolt ons.
This would have been a good video with out all that stupid noise

Taking the old filter out is easy but putting a new one in is for masochists (whoever designed this). You really have to have hand dexterity to put the darned thing back in. Next time I'm buying Japanese.
No! Why wouldn't you upgrade the filter for your girl? Smh.
Dude could you make that music anymore annoying? WTF? I'm trying to listen to you talk and the music is so distracting.
Thanks!
