Wow gm finally thought about putting a cabin air filter in their trucks... I had to retrofit a kit to put a cabin filter in our 07 tahoe. Which didnt have one from factory nor have a slot opening for it 🤔

I need help with my 2021 GMC Sierra Elevation, it seems like my recirculating button is not working well, either it’s on and or off I still smell odors coming from the outside. Like smoke from a deisel trucks or smoke from a person smoking outside. Is there a way I can fix this? I bought this truck brand new and I ask the dealership and they don’t know what to do with it?

I like simple.....unlike what I saw with a Ford Fusion and a Nissan

Thank you! I did notice you removed the old "made in USA" filter and replaced it with a "made in China" filter, 🤣

Nissan requires removal of about 20 screws and a whole bunch of trim to get to the filter. Why can't it all be engineered to be this easy?

The ones that come in from the Driver side. The damn gas pedal is 4" away.. It's surprise you can get the new one in. Without wadding it all up..Then stuff it back in there... What a pain...

    What's with the top/bottom and random blur? I don't think it's a Florida thing.

I dunno why the top and bottom did it. It happened while I was trying to blur the paperwork inside of the box. I'm not very good at video editing yet. But I'm figuring it out. Thanks for watching.

Do cabin air filters protect the ac condenser at all? Or are they just for clean cabin air?

Ok stupid question but does it matter if you install a cabin air filter with the arrow pointing the wrong way? I bought my car used and when I watched videos on how to replace an air filter on my car it showed the opposite and the filter didn't look like it was ever changed.

Yes point it the right way for proper flow

There are no stupid questions! Yea it kinda does. The element is made to flow one direction. It'll work backwards but I think airflow is restricted.

They claim it will be less efficient and should be replaced sooner if it's installed wrong.

You're not wrong. It's frustrating to me that the hacks out there give all of us technicians a bad reputation.

@@RainmanRaysRepairs I don't give all technicians bad. Just the quick change oil places that absolutely rip a person off. I tell people a cheap mechanic is not always the smartest idea that you get what you pay for. My mechanic I have used for 12 plus years and he is not cheap but he refuses to put autozone or any other cheap parts on a car and I respect him for that

A lot of that is set up by the owners of the business. I charged a guy $5 to replace his cabin filter on an 18' mustang.

My Honda Accord is like that, takes me 2 minutes to change the cabin filter. Very easy on customer vehicles as well.

If it's really dirty then yes you gotta clean all the shit out of the hvac box that's why the service fee is 50-70$

  • @ZMAN_420

Looks dirty to me I would change it. But I overmaintain my personal vehicles. Changing cabin Air Filters are alot better than having to blow out the heater core/ evap core. One day because there was no cabin air filter. The first cabin air filter on an Ottawa/Kalmar spotter truck in 2008, before 2008 the heater core/no A.C on those trucks would be clogged in under a year. Conditions at that railyard VERY DUSTY! 2008 was also 1st year of inner and outer Engine air filters ans Donaldsons whole intake system. They would cover a new engine parts and labor if and only if both air filters failed or there intake system failed. The new style air filet was way better than old set up. Before cabin air filters especially on medium size work trucks, semi trucks. Sometimes even getting to heater core/evap core sometimes it was a take the dashboard apart. Buick Roadmaster mid 90s HORRIBLE HEATER CORE LOCARION!!!!!

You said certified pre owned so I expect you’re a dealer. Why are you replacing with a filter made in China instead of an AC Delco part?
