I’ve never done a test like that however, what I did test was the temperature readings. With the stock cabin air filter on my 2015 Malibu(272k+miles) I was getting a temperature reading of about 44° - 45° When I switched over to the K & N cabin air filter I got a temperature reading of 38° to 40° big cooling difference in temperature Along with that, I think we contributes to the lower cooling temperatures is the fact that I have 70% ceramic window tint on the windshield and 30% ceramic tint on the front driver and passenger windows with 10% window tint all around in the rear windows By far, I would not go back to stock cabin air filters. I have them installed on all my vehicles.

Good to know, I install them on all my vehicles as well. I have even been using the k&n house filter for over a year now and have had no problems with it.

Really appreciate this! I’m actually going to install one in my Titan. Right now in Nashville the allergies/pollen is absolutely horrible. I can’t wait to get this in the truck.

I'm glad to know this. My 2021 Mazda 3 just had a big check-up earlier this week and recealed that both of my air filters need to be replaced. In my effort to avoid dealership costs, I elected to replace them on my own. I purchased K&N filters and even though they border dealership costs, their efficiency and effectiveness will prove well worth the money spent over time. Thanks for this info!

I added a k&n on my 14 Sierra as well. My biggest concern is this… some cabin air filters have activated carbon on them for odor removal. I’m guess the k&n doesn’t being it’s just a flocked mesh filter. I bought one considering for one cabin air filters are expensive. And this one can simply be cleaned and replaced .

Just cause i did see, did you by chance put the cover back on during the no-filter test? that would be my only guess as to why the flow wasnt as high as the K&N filter. otherwise, im glad i've been choosing to use K&N cabin filters. edit: nevermind lol i actually watched with audio and you said you put the cover back on.

That was a very informative test, thank you. I just replaced the cabin filter in my sons car yesterday, with a K&N. He didn't even know that filter existed. Don't think the filter had been changed in 3 years. He and I were shocked at the amount of dirt in the old filter.

It is now getting into the 80s in the afternoon and I kinda feel like it cools down quicker after sitting in the hot sun but it’s probably minimal. The air flow seems better on high but also minimal. But I am glad I just have to clean it and don’t have to worry about replacing it in the future. I plan on installing one in my wife’s crv cause it takes forever to cool down in her suv, to see if it makes a difference.

what do you think about the cabin air filter refresher? safe to breathe?

I haven’t used it yet but I am sure they have tested it out. Im sure it is safe as many regulations we have. I will check it out!

I definitely agree my past videos were not so great. No mic, no editing software, and getting over the weirdness of talking to a camera. Lol

@ZachAtakCustoms I change my old crappy own paper filter to my first K&N - Cabin filter since early January 8th. And right now, I haven’t took it out to check. It’s doing really well as it should. For when it comes to cabin air filter by K@N, what’s gonna happen if I wash it off, and then spray with little bit of K&N oil spray? I haven’t done anything to do, I just put the new K@N cabin air filter, and just drive. So it’s been a year now. And I got no issues with it. When it comes to cabin oil air filter by K&N, is there something I should keep it maintain by cleaning and spray with oil kit? Or re-oiling the cabin air filter is not necessary, as there’s no sensor will cause a small problem? 2: I’m running DNA Monitoring dry type air filter, I prefer that because I’m not sure how much the amount I would need to add on the oil air filter. To me, a dry type filter is better for me for daily use. But the cabin oil filter is fine? It’s for my 2015 lifted Scion xB bytrhway.

@@zachattackcustomsso clean it off with water. Let it dry, and then use the K&N oil spray bottle on the cabin air filter once a year? How much the amount of oil spray do I add? 2: what’s the down side for cabin oil type air filter? 3: is it truly worth it after one full year so far in ur experience? Did u have any allergies build up after one year constantly? Or did it truly help a lot, and u had no weird smell or allergies build up?

@@toyotabronyI think it was worth it cause in the long run it’s cheaper not to have to replace it. I honestly haven’t checked it yet. I will clean it towards the beginning of the year and make a video on it.

@@zachattackcustoms that is very true. With a little proper process to maintain the K&N cabin air filter, it can truly last 50k mile range? Like I said, this is my very first K&N cabin air filter and it’s been about a year now. It still works fine. I got no issues of odd smell or anything like that.

So scientifically, how can running no filter show a lower cfm number than with a filter? Impossible.

I measured velocity with a MPH gauge, not cfm which is volume.

Awesome video very informative and impressive with the kn&n my question is how its filtering does it keeps out allergies and fine dust particles in my Mercedes I’m using the oem it is a little expensive because I have to change it every 6 months I live in New York it is getting clocked very fast thanks have a great day

All filters should help a little with filtering out dust and allergens but probably doesn’t get it all. This filter should help with that but will deliver better air flow. Good thing about having this is that you won’t have to replace it. You will just have to clean it.
