    @@TheReclaimedHeirloom I wish I have your skills with either making videos or creating amazing furniture art. But, hey, with time and fantastic tutorials like yours I'll get there. We have a very similar taste - people usually cringe at my weird heavily textured pieces, but I like them and nobody gets to clip my wings! You made MY morning with this awesome discovery. Your art provokes very powerful emotional response in me. And isn't that what art is all about??? Keep 'em coming and just do your thing. XXX

    Exactly what Ksenija said 💝 Love watching you from Dublin, Ireland. May I be cheeky and ask to pick your brains? Was at a loss trying to decide what technique to use for my stairs. I've used a few on pieces already-never frottage. They're old and bokety but all we can afford 😆 I think this technique would cover a multitude of sins. What would you recommend other than new stairs 😂 btw I think your editing skills are amazeballs.💪🔥🌟 sugar, I just realised this is in the "replies"will the reclaimed heirloom see this if it's not in the comments??😠😓

    Cerena OBrien ... thank you so much 🙏💙 for your kind comment and cheers 🥂 my Irish ☘️ friend... I am from Ireland 🇮🇪 as well and dual citizenship 🇨🇦 👍🏻 I think doing these techniques on your old steps would look fantastic!! I would even consider using a stencil first and then try the ragging ... that may even be enough! You can use any colours you wish 🎨 If you are able to send me a photo of your stairs ... I can give you more insight . I painted my steps in my home... best thing I did and looks great! My email 📧- thereclaimedheirloom@outlook.com Thanks again for your kind comment 🙏💙

  • @TheReclaimedHeirloom

    @TheReclaimedHeirloom

    4 жыл бұрын

    Kimberly Drake .... thank you so much for your kind comment 🙏💙... for this piece it took approximately a full day 6-8 hours with dry times and clear wax seal. For a piece this size it went fairly quickly as the the textured finishes were not thick and dry time was more quick than straight paint drying. For the first layer of Graphite (Black) I do recommend that you let that dry over night first and make sure your base colour is generously ... or two coats for the textured finishes on top. Thank you for subscribing! 💙

    Sometimes the older pieces you can get bleed through, it just depends on the piece. If I think it will bleed through I will use a general primer. Thank you so much! I hope you enjoy today's new video! ❤️🙏🎨

    As I'm new to the process, what was the purpose or choice for the glaze? Is it for an effect?

  • @TheReclaimedHeirloom

    @TheReclaimedHeirloom

    4 жыл бұрын

    Nonstopshop Mom ... it’s a great 👍🏻 question, glaze is just a decorative paint medium used ( I actually talk in my other tutorials more about it) think of clear water base glaze as a clear paint 🎨 with no pigment colour and by adding it with your chalk paint (water base) you are just making a more moist atmosphere while you are working rather than water ( it doesn’t evaporate as quickly) and also easier to blend and have working time with what your are creating with your paint colours. I adore 🥰 working with glaze for these reasons as well as creating aged effects with colour glazes. You can purchase colour glazes or I find even easier and less expensive to purchase clear glaze and add any chalk paint colour I want using 4 part glaze to one part paint ratio! Hope this helps , I have more really easy to follow tutorials I have recently added to my channel giving lots of fun tips and uses for glaze as well as how to use 😉💙💙
