Didn’t move the caliper when installing new brake pads, and subsequently they squeaked. Never assumed the new pads may not be completely centered. Tried cleaning, resurfacing using sandpaper, nothing worked. Sometimes going back to the basics is the best answer. Thanks for making me stand back and realize there was another option.👍🏼 Squeak free since the adjustment. Thanks.

If it’s a sting R it should either be fast ace or talaria suspension. Each are similar quality. What color is the adjuster? Any branding or logos on the shocks/forks?

@@freerfixedit I'll check for branding when I get home but it's nickel / bronze one the right.

Great vid, mine are still making noise, just rubbing on the pads. Should i try the same process all over? Brake clean on the rotor? Any ideas?
@freerfixedit
Ай бұрын
Thanks! Appreciate that. Yeah try to clean the rotor, also, sometimes it takes a few times to get it to line up perfectly. If it’s being stubborn you could maybe try doing one bolt at a time on the caliper, doing a test spin of the wheel, and adjusting the side to side of the caliper accordingly for the 2nd bolt. Hope this helps 🤙🏽
Would you have any tips if the rotor is bend?
@freerfixedit
Жыл бұрын
Could take it off or try to straighten it. If it happened in shipping reach out to Luna or where you ordered from and see if they’ll send you a replacement. Luna takes really good care of their customers
Would it be the same process for the rear brake?
@freerfixedit

Yep, just loosen the 2 caliper bolts, hold the back brake, and tighten. Then release the brake lever
yo! sorry, Im back with another question. On ebikezilla, there is an option to get the fast ace fork should I? or should I go with the stock shock?

Is the back tire supposed to spin freely when spinning the tire by hand? Mine is pretty tight, also do you have any idea what this slight ticking sound is near my front caliper?
@freerfixedit
11 ай бұрын
yes it is supposed to spin freely... there is some resistance due to the motor, and a tight chain can make it hard to spin

u gotta alternate while tightening both the bolts and do a little at a time
What if it still squeaks a little bit. I was thinking maybe it’s still squeaky because it was off and the breaks are in even but idk.Anyone let me know what the dealeo is.

Mine still squeak randomly. And I have aftermarket shimano pads. The stock pads are trash… but maybe try cleaning the rotors with brake parts cleaner from your local auto store

Hey, i did what you did in the video, but now my brake is way worse. Any tips?
@freerfixedit
Жыл бұрын
When you say worse… what happened? Rubbing worse? The idea behind that trick is to center the brake pads on the rotor. Take a look at your pads, and look at the gap on both sides of the rotor. Ideally when you mount the caliper down, there should be equal space between both pads and the rotor. Hope this helps 🤙🏽

@@jenshus9652 make sure it’s tight, check the pads, and maybe clean your rotors with some brake parts cleaner from an auto parts store. I also highly recommend ditching the stock pads for the shimanos. They made a big difference for me. $80 for front and rear

Try again multiple times. If it doesn't fix it, take the wheel and pads out, push the calipers in and try again. If that doesn't work, take it to a shop. They're better at it, and it's possible your rotor is bent

Hi i heard a “tac” sound when release completely the throttle at low speed, is very annoying. I feel it also through the “vibration” of footpeg. Can you help me to understand where is the source of this sound please?
@freerfixedit
5 ай бұрын
Not sure what you mean by tac sound, but I'm guessing it has something to do with the gearbox... Do you have the clamp on the gearbox vent hose open? and have you done an oil change on the gearbox yet? I've seen many people say that after they changed the gearbox oil with a quality oil that it quiets down a lot... let me know if you get it figured out or I'll try my best to figure out what it is with you... hope you get it sorted!

@freerfixedit
Ай бұрын
Just loosen the caliper bolts and do it again. Your caliper probably is off center and the pad is rubbing the rotor. Sometimes it takes a couple tries to get it perfectly aligned
I just changed tires and brakepads and this did not work
@freerfixedit
Ай бұрын
Sometimes it takes a few tries, but really all you’re trying to do is have the caliper be centered on the bracket, so that the rotor doesn’t rub on either side of the pads. With new pads tho, there will be less wiggle room for the rotor until they wear down some. Hope you get it sorted!
