I was able to figure out where the rubber battery blocks that are included with the bike go. Once installed, these fixed the issues I had with battery rattle, hope it helps you too!

    Perfect timing. Just got done with the first ride on my new Sting R and the battery was clunking around like crazy on the rough sections of the trail. Hadn't installed the rubber battery things yet as the instructions were so terrible, but will get them on now that I know where they go. Thanks for the info.

    That's funny. I had the same issue with the tape coming off the smaller block.

    Fit closer to the lock catch. The 3m tape peeled straight off the rubber block, so I set mine with marine grade sikaflex to the battery lid. Works great

    This worked perfectly for me, both pieces just like you have, I had the small block on the battery alone and it was better but still noisy, so I did what you did and it's dead quiet now, I sort of messed around briefly with trying to install the block on the battery but never found a good place, I'm thinking the small block on the lock assembly gives it some security front to back, I'm just going to roll with mine as is just like in the video.

    Yeah so after posting this, I’ve actually relocated the smaller block to the battery rather than the latch. Either position works fine for rattle, but I couldn’t remove the battery when I stuck the smaller block to the latch.

    Since this video, I've also added a thin sheet of foam under the battery, and on top of it as well, its hard to close the battery door now, but the battery is super secure

    @@freerfixedit That's a good idea, I remember when I had the battery out for inspection that it might need something at the bottom for padding, I'll probably do that as well.

    Got my new talaria yesterday and took it for a spin and love it! I forgot to put the blocks in but now I know what that rattling noise is lol. But on a different note for some reason the brakes will randomly make a loud deep humming noise. And the only way to stop it is to grab the brake about 5-10 times until it stops. It seems like the calipers might be getting slightly stuck. And my front brake doesn't stop anywhere near as good as the rear brake. With the front one I can squeeze it hard and still be able to move the bike forward. The rear brake when I squeeze it I can't even get the bike to move at all when trying to move it backwards. Did you experience this at all? Thanks! Just subbed!

    Stoked you like it! Yeah so I gotta be honest I’m not amazed by the brakes, but here’s some things I did that helped. They ship them with oil on the rotors to prevent rust in storage. Take some brake parts cleaner and wipe down both rotors real good. Also, with the front brake, I noticed a soft hum. Almost like a baseball card in a rim but softer. I noticed the fork guard on the brake side had a cable groove and a place for a zip tie. I pulled my cable tight at the bottom and zip tied it to the fork guard and haven’t heard it since. Bedding the pads in helps too. Gets some material from the pads into the rotors and has more bite. I went like 10 and just drug the front brake and then did several starts and aggressive stops. Just be careful and don’t wash the front end out applying too much front brake. Hope this helps!

    Absorbing everything you got on this. Shipping mid to late April and the new Discover card is on the way. Almost did the "afftrm" payment plan, but at 4,500 that is some cash back points. Also i forgot about tax of 300.00 plus. Dang we coming in at just below 5k. I can pick up since we are semi-local but zero cost savings, hinting if I pick up I can get the bike sooner. So stoked I waited out the Sur-Ron rush. Like your OBX style of videos, check Ventura, CA. Slightly similar. KITEBOARDing Talaria Sherpa!

    Yeah that’s actually a smart way to do it. Probably better interest rate, and you’ll end up getting a little discount from the cash back. Next video will be out Monday. And a few more this week. Appreciate the support, and I hope yours gets there soon!

    Hey i commented on your other video too. But could you tell me what wire to cut and how to get too it. to unlock the power ?

  • @freerfixedit

    @freerfixedit

    Жыл бұрын

    Yeah! You have to take off the cover that is around the horn on the bottom side by the head tube. Once you get that off, trace up those wires and look for the brown wire that just loops back to the harness. It’s the only one like it. Pause my video and make sure it’s the right one to be sure. There is also said to be a way to unlock them without cutting the wire. Turn the key on, hold the start button for 6 seconds, apply the left brake 4 times, then press start button 4 times. Brake sensors must be attached for this to work. Let me know if it works!

    I installed them with mine in. Think it made for a more snug fit with the smaller block cause I just pushed it down until the tape hit the side. I’m not positive if I stuck the smaller block to the correct side or not though. Haven’t tried removing battery yet and I’m worried it might rip the smaller block up when I lift it
