I love how you record the audio for the night bite. One of my favorite ways to fish because of how calm and peaceful nights are. And then hearing all the fish activity on the surface. Like you mentioned I found slow is best. I normally cast jerkbaits that go just below the surface. My other friends use spooks and walk-the-dog-styled topwaters too. Curious on your take on this scenario; happens to me a bit; when there's a lot of fish activity such as a lot of alewives and fish blowing up on them but they wont touch your lures; what do you end up doing? Some people say just find another spot as they're too locked in to care for any lure, other says stay on them and keep changing lures.

Great question! I typically will not leave fish to find fish even when the bite is like this. I have been doing this for decades now but I think I learned the most last year and I can't wait to test out what I think I learned this year. If I can't get the fish to bite on noisy and silent top waters, I reach for something that goes down a foot or two and I vary those baits from there. The Berkley Juke and Cordell Blue Striper worked well for me last year. This year I will experiment with the Berkley Nessie of the size that best matches the bait fish. I am also experimenting with a new technique but am not ready to share yet.
Try a ta clip (tactical anglers) they close themselves and are saltwater grade.

Amazing what one day will do. I was there the night before never seen or heard anything break water. I did have to get off the water around midnight. My trolling motor decided to kick the bucket. That's the bad news the good news is a new Ghost is on the way. I should be back in action within the next couple days.

You just never know. Sometimes on those silent nights there is a really good underwater bite...and sometimes not.
You are so fortunate to be able to fish at night on your boat. Most lakes in California force you off the lake at sunset it’s bs!! 🤬
