Nice video for beginners. You channel deserves more views. Thank you! My problem with snafu rig is the hook is at the lowest end of line. and rod is not sensitive to the position of the hook because weight is at higher position than hook. When retrieving line from beach or trolling on boats, the hook is easily stuck at bottom. After losing several rigs, I never used it again. Another excellent bait for porgy is shrimp, which is widely available at grocery store. I usually tie half shrimp tail with elastic rubber thread before putting it on hook.

I've use shrimp before and it works great. Not many fish don't like it!

Just fished that dock yesterday. I like to drop straight down the side of the pilings. If you’re not catching them, they aren’t there.

It was good in the early morning hours but dead by 10am.

3:57 Haha, I use my 5k saragosa paired up with my 7ft okuma 1 pc to catch smaller fish. 😅

I used to catch Scup in RI. Scup don’t usually come up to the North Shore where I now live. How far south of Boston do you need to go to catch Scup?

I've caught them in Hull mass the past couple years but nothing consistent

Never caught scup in Gloucester. State pier is good for mackerel and squid depending on the season.
