I’m the guy at that recognized you and said hello when you showed up. I caught the two flounder, 18 and 19 inch, after switching to gulp. I gave my live shrimp away after that and went home. Keep up the good videos.

Great vid... The advice about setting the hook whether you think you have a flounder on or you’re snagged, really helped me. I was getting more bites than I thought before, thinking I was just snagged. I caught 3 flounder yesterday by setting the hook when I thought I was snagged. Makes me crazy wondering how many flounder I may have lost not realizing I had hits over snags. Thank you 🤘👊

I use to exclusively fish with frozen mullet. With good success too! I used to catch them months before flounder season and freeze them. I switched to live once I realized that I could feel the live ones scrambling for their lives when something was after them. Flounder stomach works great if you tip your artie with it also. But I hear their illegal.Great video I’m a new subscriber

Great video. At the beginning you did not mention the Gulp lures used. My Grandpa and I slowed down Playback Speed to get that info. I believe that we saw Gulp Ripple Minnow, Swimming Minnow and Nuclear Chicken. The red and white were called Kelly Wigglers a few years back. I've tried the Nuclear Chicken with decent success around mid coast and SPI. We will for sure try adding the Buc-ee's filleted mullet. We love Buc-ee's. Who doesn't? Thanks again, Brother.

The best way to catch flounder is Gulp the only way the New penny in good and the white and the size depends on what time of year it is I would rather fish the channel out of the Galveston yaught Basin and go down to to pier 37 or 21 or the sulfet docks cheater bait isn’t necessary for the Gulp to each his own you always wait at least 10 seconds do not set the hook right away sometimes they don’t have the whole bait in there mouth you will miss a lot if you feel a snag or a thump wait and after you slowly raise up you rod and if it feels like a wet carpet coming off the bottom if it comes up a little then set it back down and you know it’s a flounder then set the hook don’t just set the hook if you are hung up setting the hook can make the hook dig deeper in what ever you are hung in

@@3rdCoastFishin i have no doubt. I see the very good results there. And so, from observation actual performance of that Gulp, it really wouldn't matter what Gulp you use whether it is paddle tails or color's because the action on that plastic doesn't matter at all, right! Just my thoughts of practical thinking and rationale. No harm intended. 🙂

@@3rdCoastFishin How much do them mullets cost? I'm just curious because I think you still would have caught those flounder even if they didn't have the mullet fillet on the hook of that Gulp Ripple Mullet. It's probably just overkill to do that because gulps have plenty of scent. It would be more interesting if you put the mullet fillet on a plain unscented paddletail / swimbait and see if you can pull a flatty out with that.
