    Your vertically-oriented monitor showed a huge improvement after calibration. Switching between the two it was clear there was a magenta cast to it before calibration. Thanks for the video.

    Great video. Different screens was a good idea to represent examples of what we use . I got into astrophotography 3 years ago and now having my images printed. Now I know how best to get them printed without them coming back too dark or loss of color , contrast and just not even close. Awesome

    I have a 2nd monitor and I want to color-match it with my other monitor, but the thing is I tampered with my RGB on it to make it look nicer. Would calibrating it with the default settings and creating a color profile do the job or would the settings on the different models make too noticable of a difference?

    ROOKIE Q: How do I adjust my screen brightness/contrast during calibration? The application takes up the whole screen and I had no access to controls. OPted to Cancel, adjust brightness, then start again until I found a Brightness level.

    I have used three different calibrators, one of them is the SpyderX and I can say that this particular model is a complete waste of money. The only consistent thing he can achieve is a green tint. The other two with which I have not had similar problems are Spyder 3 and Xrite Display pro . The spyder 3 isn't supported anymore, that's why I bought the X after a few days I just returned it and bought the Xrite with which everything is also fine.

    Have you had the chance to use this on your BenQ PD3200U? If so, did it give you a 100% sRGB when it calibrated it? I’m wondering if I need to update to this version or not. My spyder 5 doesn’t give me 100 sRGB when I calibrate the PD2700U. Thanks in advance for your help.

    he just made a video on mac killer PC, all you have to do is go with a 3900x/3950x with 2070 super or 2080. what ever your budget allows. resolve heavily relies on CPU cores while playing back h.265 footage because the codec is not GPU friendly yet, so if you are shooting a lot of drone footage/ 10bit h.265 getting the greatest graphics card also wont help much. but if you work with pro-res or raw video footage then, you will be just fine with a 12 core and a 2060 also. because that is very easy to edit and export.

    Hmmm... Online on actual photo/video editing forums, everyone is saying that you should *NEVER* use the SpyderX software as it will never give you good calibration results for _true_ color accuracy. I suppose I'll be testing this out later today with both softwares to see if I can notice a difference...

    So what are your thoughts on the SpyderX?

  • @NippleSauce

    @NippleSauce

    Жыл бұрын

    @@GSL.LEYREADY So I never actually tested the SpyderX software from what a ton of people were saying online. But I did still use this colorimeter with the software that everyone online was saying to use: "DisplayCAL". With DisplayCAL, it actually worked very well. The only downside is that in order for me to get great results with the specific monitor that I was using at the time (which was a pretty shitty one IMO), I had to do a very diligent and lengthy scan with most of the room's lights dimmed or off so that it didn't interfere with what the colorimeter saw (as I have a super bright light directly over my monitor lol). The scan that I ran took between 8-12 hours IIRC... So it would be best to do an accurate scan before bed and then having it go overnight. Regardless, it is a pretty dang good colorimeter for the price IF you use the right software with it =).

  • @NippleSauce

    @NippleSauce

    @@GSL.LEYREADY No problem. Definitely run a shorter test first. With DisplayCAL, you can run a scan anywhere from 10 minutes to 24 hours, haha. So start with a 10 or 20 minute scan and then switch to a much longer one if the results from the short scan aren't great. One good thing about DisplayCAL is that you can enable and disable the color profile with the click of a button after a scan is completed - so it gives you a good idea of how it turned out right away. Feel free to reply again if you have any questions.

    The Spyder X is complete waist of money. I bought it because the good results from my Spyder 2 in the past. But compared to the 2, the x is just a garbage. DO NOT BUY IT ! It makes all dyplays GREEN tinted, no matter what backlight ot target color temperature you choose, every time the result is useless !
