This has helped me with my ABA work (I'm creating a TPB questionnaire on engaging in life skills for adults with mild IDD as part of a current skills assessment using the COM-Bmodel) and I found this so palatable and easy to understand 🎉

I noticed that in the formula that the variances and sum of variance are squared but you didn't square them when you wrote the equation. Was that on purpose or is it an error?

I'm just asking (I'm not sure): Shouldn't you be using the function var.P instead of var. S since you are dealing with the variance of the total population?
@EugeneOLoughlin
3 ай бұрын
Hi Dr Alonso, In my example here I am using a sample of 20 in a pilot study, so sample variance (var.s) is most suitable. Hope this helps, Dr E.

Hi! Is it necessary that the question number is in the x-axis and the respondents is in the y-axis?
@EugeneOLoughlin
Жыл бұрын
Hi Jan, No - it is not necessary. But be careful how you calculate the variances - you will be using values in lines rather than columns. Hope this helps, Dr E.

Sir, why did you use Var. S instead of Var. P?
@EugeneOLoughlin
2 жыл бұрын
Hi Steven, Normally we use samples (in the video the sample size in 20), and therefore do not know the population statistics such as population variance (var.p). Sample variance (var.s) is a good indicator of population variance, therefore it is usually OK to use it instead. Hope this helps, Dr E.
