When I was in the US Navy we wore dungarees. They were plain-styled bell bottoms, but they were comfortable. The reason why we wore bell bottoms was in case the ship sank or we fell overboard. You can take off the jeans while still wearing boots, so we would then use the jeans as a life preserver.

How could use the jeans as a life preserver if they were completely soaked? I'm just trying to understand the process, as it doesn't seem to add up. And just out of curiosity, how long ago were you in the Navy?

These videos are very good. Because certain people for one reason or another never really learn how to "dress" and meaning there's no book/guides for these type of things and that it is more of an "art" verses something you can read up in a manual, these videos are a life saver for many of us! :)

I've found that the quality of jeans has dropped DRAMATICALLY over the last few years. Jeans that I used to buy at Old Navy (please don't judge) that fit and fit well a year ago, now don't, and I'm the exact same weight I was. The problem now is that the whole "skinny jeans" trend has taken hold, and we're ALL suffering because of it. Designers are making jeans that only fit emaciated Euro-hipsters, and nobody else. This reminds me of the 70's and 80's, when everyone was making jeans skin tight because of disco, and it was impossible to find a pair that fit well, or even at all. I didn't wear a pair of jeans all through the 80's because of that.Looks like history is repeating itself.

+RobotShlomo You know, you're completely on point. I have exactly the same problem with jeans. Everything is skinny these days and I'm not one for that. I'm a big guy and prefer loose fit jeans. If I do find a good pair they end up having a stupid pattern on them or the price is extortionate. Manufacturers, like TJ Maxx tend to stock the slim fit stuff and then they'll have a few pairs which have a really big waist. I used to buy mine from H&M or Levis. I wouldn't pay that amount for a pair of Levis today.

Hi to everyone. I´m a guy from Madrid (Spain), and what I´ve seen in Antonio´s videos is that, no matter where are you from, his advide is useful all around de world. There´s no need to be from USA. Why is that? very simple, because his advice is dealing with classical ideas and not with todays fashion and trends. Thank you Antonio. You are a crack!!!

All of these shops are reasonably priced. A Levi 502 regular taper fits me perfect 34W 34L. Keep up the good work I follow all of the men’s style guys on KZread 👍

Hey Antonio, I started to buy " Advanced Comfort Cowboy Cut " they fit me the best. Looking the best on me anymore, for the longest time I've worn the regular relaxed fit. Noticed that they're really baggy from my legs downwards . As I've watched ur channel it's helped me look much better ( shirts boots, jackets etc ) for the women in my life etc even though they are a little more expensive than most jeans that you'd find at Walmart etc But it's worth it seeing & hearing compliments from the women in my life etc especially when I wear a nice shirt with my boots and my cowboy hat as well

Very helpful. Thanks Antonio. I'm a tall, slim/fit guy, 6'2'' at 175ish lbs. I think I got lucky and happened to buy slim fit bootcuts back in high school and realized that it was the best look for me. The flare at the bottom helps hide that my skinnier shins, but because they're slims, my thighs aren't swimming in them. Also, with bigger feet, tapered or slim (vintage straight) cuts make it look like I have clown shoes, but boot cut hides more of the shoe, minimizing the effect.

What he says is so true! Shopping for trousers is very confusing. You also need to take into account whether you intend to wear trousers or jeans with a belt or not. If you want to wear them with a belt then they should be slightly loose around the waist. Slightly looser trousers will also last longer as there is less strain on the seams and on the fabric itself. While tighter waisted trousers will look good but will wear out faster because of the strain you put on the seems and fabric.

I used to wear slim fit jeans. But now I go for either the regular or relaxed fit jeans. I'm a slim guy, but I've come to realize that I prefer a somewhat baggier fit, because they're just more comfortable to me and look better. I see my friends going around wearing slim and skinny fit jeans because it's "cool" and "trendy" or whatever, but I don't buy into that. I think slimmer fitting jeans look better on women than on guys honestly

Very useful video well done I'm actually in the process of buying 501s unable to try on in a shop have to order online trial an error at the moment. I like the way you break down each part of the inner seam outer seam, height and the bottom of the trouser finding the perfect fit for you with 501s it is almost an art form. Always use to buy 32 leg and have altered I have now found that 30 leg is perfect for me as I've got older I must have shrunk have I one ripple at the bottom which enough for me I usually where desert boots or chukka boots

Very informative video! Thanks for clarifying many of the common questions regarding how jeans fit! Also, I thought I should let you know that in the beginning of 2013 Levi's changed the 501 "original" fit to be a slimmer leg with ever so slight a taper through it. A true "regular" fitting straight leg jean would be the 505 (also a high rise) from Levi's or something like the Protégé fit from Adriano Goldschmied (AG).

Dear Sir, I had a factory making jeans especially to suit Stockmen & Road Train Drivers in Outback Australia. They were all 15oz stretch denim, I made the block & graded it myself, sewed the first 1,000 pair on my own. I purposely made them with a low front & back rise, because sitting in a saddle all day tends to give you a bit of a belly, so the waist fitted under the gut. The other reason for Stretch Denim is you also sweat a lot in the outback. My 16oz denim jeans were good, but if you are soaked in sweat they cut into the old crown jewels, stretch stops this. Cookey, Australia.

Hi there, could you please suggest me what kind (style) of jeans is perfect to me to put on as a young man that has short legs (compare to my body)??? Is it ok for me low rise, regular fit n straight & boot-cut legs? Thx a lot.

Hey, I was wondering could you do a video for larger men. I grew up through the 90's with the baggy fitted jeans which were awesome for my body type. Fast forward to 2015 and skinny and straight leg fit are in and that style does not look good on bigger men.

you are right. I got my waist measured and I am 36. however, I recently bought a few pairs from 7 for all mankind slimmy fit and the 34 fit me. I have a question, do jeans suppose to fit you loose or perfect fit on the waist?
