Absolutely mind blowing analysis. Especially where to looked into simple data points which are relevant for next cycle (now thats the tricky part though, to decide which data points are relevant) and how you connected the dots and showed the complete picture. Thats some really amazing skill. I have 2 requests though: 1) How you decide which data points are relevant when (or for which cycle). Where do you pull out thoae data pointa from for e.g. the season avg monthly data pointa that you showed in this video. Want a dedicated video for this please. 2) Can you make a video in comming days, as you do your HW for stocks for next cycle, about 1 or 2 stocks that you are really liking for next cycle and what are the things that are making you feel so. That would be the best way to learn to become DIY trader for me/us. I hope that it would be counted as recommendation as the next cycle would be long ahead to come and by then the structure can change in those 1-2 stocks that you discuss. As always i always get blown away by the simple clearcut analysis that actually adds some value to the life or traders and not just beating around the bush to push out YT video for income. I hardly ever say thia but, havent found a better teacher in Indian markets than you especially for positional/swings. Also if some day you could do some more videos on long term investments (decade or 2) in the form of SIP and lumpsums or combination of both. That would be great. Would love to see your picks and the reason behind them and your thought process. I know you have made bideos on investment in the past. I think a period of decline/consolidation will be good for Swing/Positional traders rather learners like me. Presently, 70%-80% Swing stocks I end up identifying moves up and brings me 15%-20% profit. It is so dangerous for two reasons. 1. It gives me so many stocks to choose from and spoils me for choice! and 2. It keeps me away from fine tuning my precise entries and exits. That said, I think I am pretty happy that I have developed the patience and process to go over ~1500 stocks every weekend to look at potential Pullback/Breakout/Momentum/Earnings Winners. I take a bottoms-up approach and then connect to top-down trends of sectors and indices. You are so right about sectors that are going to go up in coming months. I could see formation of good structures in majority of their stocks!! Have a good week Raunak and thanks for sharing your perspective.

Hello Raunak! I was wondering whether you have addressed this- my Q is about Time Frames- how much should I zoom in or zoom out? I typically use Weinstein's methods- Weekly charts. Based on how many past weeks I am looking at (or not), the MA trend change in intensity, the accumulation, distribution looks different, the MA on Volumes which look going up when assessing a zoomed in chart look completely flat when you zoom out to many more weeks!

Thank you for one more useful video..I like to disagree on one point sir.. seasonality of index movement keeps on changing..it might or might not playout & can create biases..I tried to figure out this few years back..but was not convinced. A better approach I feel would be to see the real time markets..& work on sector specific & stock specific work & sticking to one's own rules.. This is purely based on risk reward. When everyone wants to buy, that’s not the cycle to be in …. When there’s fear on pullback, get active again.

Today there is a cup & handle breakout in Praj Industries. But there is a significant overhead supply too. There is 35% dip in Oct 22 high & Mar 23 low. Since this is in green energy sector with very low debt, how you will interpret this breakout? Please share your views.

Breakout is fine. But on weekly it’s in a stage 3 structure. So I’d take a probe qty and wait for a breakout above 450-460 which would put the stock in stage 2 structure.

I watch news in mute mode to cut the noise and stay focused on the price during the trading hours, which is the best practice.__Liked it!😀

If i am understanding correctly, what you are doing now is exactly what you were doing back in early 2023/late 2022, i.e. preparing for the cycle that is now playing out. Could it also be said that the stocks like PNB, BANKBARODA & INDUSINDBANK are the Cat 1 stocks of the next cycle? And your criteria for shortlisting is that it should have strong momentum presently and periods of consolidation being relatively short. Sorry for so many questions. But as a swing/positional trader, it would make sense to trade stocks which broke out in May which are now completing pullback structures right? It seems like an endless cycle of category stocks as the market moves, if i am correct?

Your assessment is correct Ansh. Not all will turn out to be good for next cycle. But many will be. Our job is to go behind the ones that breakout from proper base.

When you're explaining about cyclicality of markets month wise, I remembered a book by an indian author on NIFTY. High Profit Trading Patterns by Kora Reddy. He also explained similar cyclical nature of market but on daily basis i.e. every Wednesday market will do this, which you can capitalise on. This made me understand there is no right way to trade markets. It all depends on your psychology
