Hey morning! Love the video, thank you. I've been playing with standard ProStaffs for a long time. Never really had the courage to change. My game is varied. I like playing a tactical game, with lots of moving around the court, but at the same time, I find myself often against players with strong ground game and I start to loose stamina with the ProStaff. Also, the tiny sweet spot requires me not only to generate my own power, but to maintain accuracy while I do it.... Things I love about the racket: precision (it's like a razor, I control the ball better than any other racket I tried), power generation (I am happy to generate my own power and I love the rackets predictable response). Gaps I want to fill: a racket that ideally can keep the precision of the ProStaff, but will be a little bit more forgiving when the long ground rallies get going (Im thinking: slightly bigger sweet spot and a bit more racket power than the ProStaff). But I really don't want to sacrifice that precision and the confidence that the prostaff gives me to go for the corners/lines. Any ideas?!?! (Also, how do the new Prostaffs compare to the old Prostate 90s?) Thank you so much!

I was wondering if you ever tried the prince textreme tour 310 it sounds so solid but I really don’t want to lose power on my serves from the dr 98. I don’t think I’m going with the tones because of the complaints of tennis elbow I have heard and the big boost on power. Any other recommendations would be appreciated!

Glad to have you on the channel! Sadly I haven't tried either the DR98 or the Prince Textreme Tour. I'm not really sure where to point you for a comfort oriented modern players racquet if the EZone 98 is already off your list. The Clash 98 comes to mind. Its a good all-around racquet that doesn't have any wow-factor to me. I think if you bumped up the weight on the EZone to 310g you might be in a better sport. More mass with always add more comfort. I have never had a single comfort issue with my 2018 VCore 95, but it may not be forgiving enough. I haven't tried the 2021 VCore 95 but that could be worth a look as well. Another idea is the VCore Pro 100. You get the flexy graphite feel of the VCore Pro line, with the added headzie of a 100sqin frame.

The Gravity Pro was just a bit slow through the air when compared to a customized Extreme Tour. I have started playing on hard courts again since the weather is good, and I revisited my VCore. Been using Rpm Blast 17g but switched to Solinco HyperG recently which I really like so far. Planning to switch to the RF97 this week then I can decide if I will stick with aero or rf97! Do you have any string recommendations? What do you think would be the challenges? I envy you getting to try all those rackets! Covid cases are still rising here so no stores are allowing demos.

Hi Jason, great to have you here! I used the 2013 APD for years and never gelled with the 2016 Pure Aero. The RF97 is going to play way differently than any Pure Aero. I wouldn't worry too much about the string, stick with something you are familiar with until you really get to know the racquet, then start playing about with strings. The main thing with the RF97 is early preparation. Get in position asap and take the racquet back well in advance. I also recommend doing some rotation cuff exercises prior to playing as you get used to the heavier weight.

@@Itsthejasonman The Pure Strike Tour really reminded me of an easier to use RF97. Extremely solid feeling and not too heavy for me. Lots of power and spin, but the higher mass makes it easier to control than the regular 16x19. If I remember, Roger switched to the 97 in 2013, and he played pretty poorly until mid 2015. So maybe be a bit more patient with it. If another month passes, maybe move on.

What were your issues with the Pure Strike Tour, from your shortlist? I just demoed it and am thinking of switching to it, so curious to hear your thoughts. I'm coming from a 93 sq inch Wilson BLX Blade Tour which I used as a teen, and was looking for a racquet that was more forgiving (especially on backhand and returns) and spin friendly but still had a "player" feel. I found the Pure Strike Tour to still have a good enough feel on flat balls (which is my preference) while giving me more flexibility. Does that sound right to you? Or would you have any alternate racquet recommendations?

  • @CourtsideSportsLTD

I like something a bit more maneuverable for my forehand. The Strike Tour is just a tiny bit clubby for me. I can change my swing, flatten it out and be ok, but it makes it tough for me to get the kind of loop on want on defensive balls. I also didn't love the feel. The feel is passable, but I find the Extreme Tour to be a but more raw.

I'm thinking either the Clash 100, Pure Aero or the pure drive. We play alot of doubles and I prefer to hit from the baseline. I also get a lot of speed through my racquet and like to play with spin. I play like 3-4 times a week. What would you suggest? My current racquet feels to clumsly (110 inc) and heavy, like bad balanced as well. I would like a lighter, and a bit smaller one. Thanks for checking out the channel! Appreciate the sub! The Clash is going to feel quite a bit different than whatever 110 sqin racquet you are currently using. Those oversize racquets are typically pretty stiff, much like the Babolat's. Given that you are a bigger, its hard to go wrong as long as you narrowed down an appropriate spec list. If you feel like you are fit enough to swing a 300 g racquet and precise enough for a 100sqin racquet, then anything your pick within that realm should suffice. Given that you have limited experience, your game may not not really get developed enough to be seriously affect by the nuances of different racquets. Any racquet for sale by any of the reputable companies is a quality piece of graphite. That said. if you have any doubts about tennis elbow or wrist soreness, go Clash 100.

Amazing question. The best way to determine this would be to try a different string. Experimenting with different setups in a racquet should show you what characteristics change with the strings. I find that string of the same material play relatively similar to one another, and a setup that in one racquet typically carry over well to another one. This means, so long as I demo a racquet with a polyester string, I can get a pretty good feel for how the racquet plays. Ive been playing with a Pure Aero (the one that is green and black) for over 3 years now, and ive just realized that its too difficult for me, i always tend to try big swings making me getting the ball out of the court. Im not making the biggest topspin hits either so ive finally realized that maybe this racquet is not for me. Also think it feels way too stiff in a way, i cant describe it but i dont enjoy the feel from it. Ive been trying the Pure strike 16x19 and the difference is actually huge for me. With that racquet I can make way bigger swings and hit way harder but its hard to decide. Im the type that likes to play at the baseline and do big and hard strokes with topspin of course, but the Aero isnt just for me. Man, I'm in a similar spot to you right now. I would consider myself an agressive baseliner, with a good forehand. (Backhand is lacking tho). Currently I'm using a Head Youtek Radical MP which I customized to about 340 grs strung and I absolutely love it, plays amazing, super stable and precise. When I'm feeling confident, I feel like I can't miss. However, I only play on clay, and hitting with a 18x20 pattern is getting too demanding, specially on defense and in those long rallies when you want to hit a heavy ball to get an easy shot. I wanna continue to play with a 98 sq head size, so my options right now are the Extreme Tour, the Pure Strike Tour and the Speed Pro (I know its 100sq but the thicker beam seems atractive haha). @@jjj_kkk7354 the Extreme Tour swings way faster. Not quite as stable, but very close. A little extra weight and the Extreme with be at least as stable. The Extreme is the choice for a spin oriented player (top and slice). The Radical is better for flatter hitters. Both are great and both pleasantly surprised me

It's very close to 325 swing weight in the form, right? You'd need only a tiny bit of lead or a thicker string to make it happen.

@@adrienszakolczai7288 I think 4 grams at 12 would do it. You'll have to measure it though. 318 may be the Tennis Warehouse average, but swing weight varies from racquet to racquet, as most manufacturers don't publish that figure.

@@adrienszakolczai7288 I can't because I don't know exactly where we are starting from. I`d guess you may have over shot your target though. There are ways of manually calculating swing weight. You have to look them up. Do you just have 1 racquet or do you need to match a couple?

What about radical mp verses gravity MP and the Yonex Vcore Pro 100, I really like to buy my first Yonex but my pro only sells head brand

The VCORE Pro 100 is going to be the most control oriented of the 3 for sure. I actually think the EZone 98 players more similarly to the Radical MP and the Gravity MP, even though it's a bit heavier. Of the Head MP's the Gravity is my favourite (i made a video on it comparing to the Pure Strike 100).

@@CourtsideSportsLTD thanks for reply I just want better racket than my head instinct mp and wanted to try out square Yonex frame I tried Yonex 100 ezone green one and felt good just little head heavy but gives me confidence the Yonex squareness which Im leaning to 98 Yonex ezone as vcore pro 100 bit heavier in head, I like head light then I can add to if needed and my instinct says it's 313 head light and that's heavier enough so don't want much heavier or maybe I'll have to try he and gravity MP even thou it's bit head heavier but slightly lighter frame

@@andyv6299 If you want something similar in power to the Instinct, but a more solid playing experience, the new Yonex EZONE 100 and Pure Drive will be my top two choices. If you want a bit more control, then I would like at the EZONE 98. I would avoid the VCORE Pro 100 as it is actually pretty demanding to use.

How do you feel about 2021 Radical MP vs. 2021 Extreme MP?

  • @CourtsideSportsLTD

I prefer the Radical by a long shot. The frame feels more inherently stable and the stringbed is a lot more consistent. I don't need a lot of power from the frame of a racquet, so the Extreme MP just isn't a great fit for my game.

@@CourtsideSportsLTD Thanks. I have 2021 Radical MP and I love it. I just was not sure how good is Extreme MP, especially in comparison with the new Radical, because I see lots of positive reviews. I did not think it would fit my game style (all court player, 3.5-4.0). I cannot find a fault with Radical MP. Just an excellent frame in so many different ways.
