I would personally go with performance. I would say many if not most people who want a $600ish budget build are doing so because they lack money for higher end builds, so they try to maximize performance per dollar. And that's not to diss anyone who is going for aesthetics. There's nothing wrong with getting an aesthetic build if that's what you want. It's just that most who go for aesthetics usually do so because they have money to spare.

Regardless of performance, I actually like the blackout stealth look better than the white RGB. Getting more performance per dollar would just be bonus for me.

“It’s a performance build so we can go ugly” Dude, that looks SO GOOD! I don’t see where the ugly part is. True, I have a full black and orange setup (headset, keyboard and mouse RGB) but I only have a laptop, never had a PC. Yet if I’m going to spend the money on a PC I’d rather go with raw performance. It would be a first PC project I make myself and I want to know I’m getting the most out of my limited budget. Great video Zach!

I got lucky on the build I’m doing right now. I got a free case, mobo and PSU, and already had storage. Sold a mobo, NAS, and office PC I also got for free and got a kit of 32gigs DDR4 and $90. Adding a 5600X ($150 w/ cooler) and a RX 6800 XT ($370). Total out of pocket cost around $430. Not too bad, especially once I sell my old 1650 I5 9th gen gaming laptop.

Performance build without a doubt

Right now i have your 400 $ PC pure performance with the 600$ setup in Europe and i absolutely love it. I would go with the aesthetic PC because now that i have it for a few months i realise the importance of aesthetic

I love watching your videos.

I build my 1st custom PC about two months ago with same budget $600 and I got similar spec & performance but with aesthetic build with white theme build, for the spec I got Intel i5 12400F pair with RTX4060 & 16Gb RAM + 1Tb SSD, but for motherboard I choose the cheapest one MSI H610M DDR4 with 600W PSU, so far I'm really satisfied with my PC and it can run all my favourite games at high to max setting at least 75fps

Performance is usually the move but that aesthetic build is a nice happy medium. I’ve also never seen the white challenger 6600 and now I wish I had that one instead

I think you could do separate videos for each price range, one for aesthetics and the other maxperformance. If budget constraints allow, ofc. Maybe go black for both sometimes, then white, then bXw. Zach, please keep up the excellent work. full entertainment mode

I like the way the FPS per value build better then the aesthetic one

I would rather go with pure performance one but get a nice Cabinet so that i can upgrade based on aesthetics by adding coolers and cables later on (i like black build more than white because black looks more neat for me at least)

Performance is what matters to me. I don’t mind some RGB and other things, but at the end of the day, I’m looking at my monitor, not the pretty lights and fancy case.

I use the black non-RGB version of that cooler on a 5500 and it's more than enough, as is the chip with the 2060S it's paired with. I knows me place, it's 1080P, I'm fine with that.

in my opinion, a black fish tank with customise RGB like orange white or purple still aesthetics as gorgeous. So i think performance is my first pick, and also i not frequently look the case while playing

Oh and Msi spatium m371 and Patriot viper ram kit are awesome for budget I believe they are in a few of my builds

love the cases. recommended the cube01 to my friend and a 6700 for his $800 budget

I would go middle ground... get the fish tank style case in black...get the performance parts and then add the cooler and cable extensions later... you can have a cool looking black build.. and have the best of both worlds... for barely a little more.

The PCI Gen 3 on that B450 board will hurt the RX 7600 PCI x8 lanes quite a lot. Spending slightly more for a B550 will yield even better performance.

Just like how you understand the pure perfo gives extra frames but still stick with the aesthetic, I also understand how the aesthetic looks good, but to me, I'm a simple man, and as much as I love RGB, I don't need any RGB when it can be just "ALL BLACK" 🖤 In short, I actually prefer the appearance of the performance build over the aesthetic build Great vid 👍

I’m an aesthetics guy myself usually, but that bump up from the 5500 to 5600 alone makes it worth picking the performance build.

Personally i would aim for black with dark lighting, like red or purple for appearance, i’m not gothic but i enjoy the black styles!

The performance build still looks good.

Hey Zach, love the channel! I would love to have a 800 dollar pc build that has a full size pc case and runs games like fortnite in 1440p while having amazing aesthetics.

For flipping you need the aesthetics, for a personal build I would go with the performance and save up for some of the aesthetic parts overtime. I may start with a better looking case and add later an rgb cooler and rgb fans.

I would roll back to a R5 3600 and A b550m mother board with wi-fi (not and ASRock board) the case I need a Acrylic side panel. With 10yro twin tornados it is needed.

Remember that regardless of aesthetic or just pure performance what matters is that you are happy with your pc, if you prefer a black box that looks like it came from the deepts of the abyss or a pc with more lights than a ciberpunk nigth club both options are ok as long as you like it, in the end you are the one who's going to use it and enjoy it.
