AWESOME VIDEO! I installed a wet kit myself on my truck when I bought a side dump a year and a half ago and I know many people will find this helpful when planning and installing a system. Thanks Trevor and Justin 👍

I was holding off to send a comment on the web system until I see what you guys use for a system and now that he hit the brakes and air horn went off. I just started dying laughing had to comment.

Nice wetline set up for sure ! Permco makes a two stage pump with the valve built in , good for dump trailer or walking floor , the pressure relief takes an air line operated by a switch for the higher pressure a walking floor requires

We have some of those also but they don’t seem to hold up as well as what we’ve got currently going on trucks.

I have always run a P 51 or the serco pumps but I run the 1 inch quick connect on both pressure and return but my system is different always run the split tank like you except for one truck that runs a 40 foot Bentley rolloff that one requires 75 gallons and of course you know there’s some dump trailers that require a little more than the 60 but I run a valve right on the P 51 to let the pressure back flow through instead of the shut up like you have partway down the cab, I find this better because it keeps it out of the weather and less road debris, a.k.a. snow and ice buildup. Also, I would run another ball valve on the bottom of the tank just in case always comes in handy.

I get you think it’s funny your trailers get dirty, but a trailer can get just as dirty driving through the snow and rain with all the dirt. On the road . And that trailer you showed ,that’s clean compared to my equipment from where I go. I live in Washington state and I haul into the landfill with just mud

  • @flintcreektransport

I gotcha. This mud came from off-roading and dirt roads. But yes garbage haulers have it much worse !!

Justin I run a Kenworth T470 with a Palfinger boom on it . The PTO was all set up from the factory when we ordered the truck ( Per Palfinger's recommendations ) Anyway even in the summer when Im using the Boom a lot the fan on the oil cooler has never came on , because the oil never gets that hot . And yes it works I had the crane company make sure of that . I say this because I didn't see a cooler in the hydraulic circuit . By the way the fans do pull a lot of current so fuse them correctly .

the two wire hoses your using isnt rated for 3000 psi you have to step up the the four wire hosed for that, capacity of your system times three is your tank requirements, each 90 degree fitting can be equal to 50 foot of hose

I’m going to watch this two or three more times. Good info. And the comments have a good exchange of info. I like the emphasis on flexibility and reliability. One of the other commenters mentioned oil type(synthetic). Most of my experience has been with standard hydraulic oil, but I know pile drivers have been using biodegradable hydraulic oil for decades in their hydraulic machinery. Have you used any of the biodegradable oil in your systems? Synthetic oil? If so, how did they perform? Thanks much and take care.

Clean install, a shop to be proud of. When or what type of service would you need a heat exchanger mounted inline? I see most propane haulers in my area have the wetline with the fan and "radiator" set up... Thanks.

If u are unloading over a long period of time and don’t want to have the oil capacity ……or many loads on a hot day !!!! For example the truck we had at the bean plant unloaded 10-18 loads a day. We had a oil cooler on that one !

  • @flintcreektransport

Some rgn trailers come with their own hydraulic system….. basically a lil Honda engine with a hydrolic pump …… if you are only planning on pulling it a few times here and there that might be a good start ……
