This is the fourth time I have now watched this, and all the previous how-to videos. These, along with the written instructions, have been brilliant so far. I'm just starting the third row of my oven, and so far, it's been relatively easy, even for a building novice like me. Thank you.

@@TheFireBrickCo Hi Ben ,ok I have requested to be put on the mailing list ( email as I will be moving house soon ) for the D105 brick oven not the moulded as what more of less instantly changed my mind was the holding heat stats you gave as all that heat is free so when it becomes available hopefully I will be able to get on the list early ,also just one ore question pleas , I have now completed all the installation videos and brilliant I think definitely THE Best on the internet and as I said I've watched at least 40 videos but one question why are do the bottom layer of bricks have to have a raised mortar bed on one side ,I have been trying to figure that out and not sure if you did give the answer in the video thanks Ben
Could you please explain why it is important (and not just for aesthetics) to fill any voids in the inner joints and have a nice flush fully filled joint. Thank you.

Hi Jeff, great question! Several reasons; - For full and even transfer of the compressive force from the bricks above through the mortar joint. - To ensure smoke and hot gasses don't have an easy path through the brickwork to the insulation layers, where they could build up creosote deposits. - For aesthetics too! Hope this helps, please don't hesitate to call or email us if you have any further questions 😀
I am wondering if the bricks for the front arch and sides can be make with coloured non-fire bricks that will match the bricks I am using for my outer brick cladding?

While you could do that, you may find those bricks struggle to cope with the high temperatures that you can get to in that part of the oven. We would usually recommend building the oven as you see us do it here, then clad around it with your brickwork, 'hiding' our bricks behind yours.
How much is the labor to set the oven ??

Good question - we don't offer a building service these days but you could approach a local landscaper or stonemason to quote it for you
Money. Nice one.

It's a proprietary mix of refractory aggregates and high temperature cement
