A torsion box top workbench is essential to any workshop where square and accuracy are key. Having a flat surface to work on is paramount. In this video I show how I made a torsion box top workbench and outfield table with storage. The top is made from all plywood with a hardwood surround and the base can be anything you like. I will cover the base for this table in another video. Plans will be available soon! Hope you enjoy and thanks for watching.

Great job! Look forward to the plans.
I need to build a few torsion boxes for my shop. I also own a sprayer but for things like that would probably roll or at least everything except the top coat, though if you “ roll and tip “ (follow behind the roller with a very fine bristle brush ) you can get a pretty darn good finish. Thank you for this excellent video.
Great build. I got a few ideas for my future builds from watching this. I just finished up making the 2nd 10 drawers of the 20 for my miter station cabinets. I sealed all the plywood, inside and out using boiled linseed oil.
Like the drawer handle mounting. I'll keep it simple.. great looking table, great video

love the look of the Sapele and red oak! I need to make a new torsion box top for my "Kings Fine Woodworking" table. I believe I will be using these plans once they are available. Thank you!

Thank you! I pretty found of my Laguna stuff. Dust collector is great. Haven’t had any issues with it and for the times I did customer service has been great.
Assembly table and no vises or dog holes?

Hey Joe! I did bridle jointed sheer web. It would’ve made the video way to long. We are building a second one so keep an eye out for that portion in the future.
How did you level the top? Did I miss that?

As a torsion box top it is flat due to the way it is constructed. The internal spine of the table along with glue and screws assures that it stays flat.
