This video is super super helpful , since I thought "co-curriculars" were only about sports !!!!

Frankly a CV for a fresher and for a lateral hire are two different ball games. And slowly we are entering an era where a CV is mostly seen as a overhead. So it’s important to focus on how a CV is perceived by the hiring authority. (For the purpose it’s being compiled)

I had a doubt - You mentioned that we can state participation in case study competitions under our co-curricular achievements and then while explaining extra-curriculars, you stated that participation in events organised by clubs and societies can be mentioned there. So where exactly should we include it in order to make a better impact or should we add it to the bucket having lesser points depending upon our cv? If you could please clear this it would be great!

Thank you so much :) I do prepare a script to keep the points crisp. The video you see is a 10 min edited version, the original video is 20-25 mins with lots of repeated tries at speaking the point fluently. It's edited to ensure it looks like one video.

Thank you, Anushk :) From summers point of view, only work-ex/internships can add value. If you have slight bit idea on which field you'd want to get into, you could prepare for the same (e.g. finance based courses like NCFM or digital marketing courses).

Hello! Does companies comes with criteria of not selecting persons with gap year and open graduation. Should past matters a lot? Or tier 2 college name is good enough?

Hoping to see it soon, and also Shweta most of the things you mentioned were for students but could you suggest some profile building points for a person who has passed college so can't do majority of the stuff you mentioned apart from work ex and hobbies. i am a GEM with above average scores. thank you

Yes!! For a working professional, taking up courses (if you wish to switch fields later or want to learn a new skill), taking up hobbies, attending conferences/workshops, volunteering or social work are of importance. Most working professionals are evaluated on the basis of the projects they took up during job.

It is possible - if the interviewers find your personality to be a value-add, then surely. Not all of my batchmates had ECs, but during placements these things count, so making a balanced CV should be of help.

Well mam your videos cover our every doubts:). But still want to get your attention in my case, I graduated this year (2022), and it will be my first attempt and even its been a month I started the preparation not good in any section. So to fill this gap year I'm really getting confused whether to focus in internship, or for job as timing are very rigid (9 to 6) and won't be able to manage both my prep and other things. What should I do please suggest me as I'm not having any other activities to add in my CV. For couple of months on what should I focus. Please help me with the same!

Hi Shweta. I was preparing for CAT. Just started. I have one major doubt. After 7-8 years of job experience in finance sector it is worth doing MBA full time. I wanted to add more degree to enhance my job profile. I have heard about executive MBA but will I be at a disadvantage from regular MBA. ? If you could throw some light on this. It will be of great help. I cannot afford executive MBA I am barely able to gather money on my own for Full time MBA.

If it's related to your academic discipline, then it's co-curricular (i.e. if you're a student from agri background). Else, an extra curricular activity.
