How to Build a Snow Cave in Three Minutes
Комедия
This is how I keep busy during the winter in North Idaho. :D Many hours of footage from at least five different days of work are condensed into this short video, to show you what it is like to build a snow cave, without forcing you to watch an extremely boring, 10-hour video. Enjoy, and thanks for watching! :D

oh the joys of being an energetic youth. I became fatigued watching this. Nice work ethics!!
Ugh I wanted to see the inside when it was finished.

Ummm , really great vid and music , but you forgot one major detail in this video. A tour of the inside , I was bummed when I didn't see the inside of all your hard work. Looks like it would sleep two families. Maybe more , great work. Peace

I just remembered I posted a comment here😂 Anyways, the cave looks amazing, it's smaller than this but it's cool
For everyone that keeps saying that he didn't do this in three minutes... well duh thats impossible he means three minutes as of how long the video is and he says in the description "Many hours of footage from at least five different days of work are condensed into this short video, to show you what it is like to build a snow cave, without forcing you to watch an extremely boring, 10-hour video." lol

A snow cave is never a survival technique. It takes one person over 7 hours to build a safe snow cave. A snow trench can be constructed in one hour, hence it is a survival technique.

skknIreeKer It’s not on purpose. I don’t think he realized the way it sounded because it could be either and it would still be true.
We're getting a 2-3 day blizzard in the Northeast (1/26/15), 2 inches of snow fall per hour, wind gust 50-60 mph and ending Wednesday night. Then we getting another big snow storm over the weekend on Saturday. I'm determined to build a snow cave and hope my lazy nephews help out a little :-)

Really bad in pei Canada around 75 cm to 80 cm in about 30 hours and it's not getting better I haven't been out much but I realize what I must do.... I must build the biggest snow Fort the world has ever seen
This is one of the coolest videos (no pun intended)! I love the ending!
Calling it a snow cave is a bit of an understatement. It's amazing!
Ethan, what an entertaining video. Thank you for sharing your hard work (and some great music) with the world. I've just completed an exhaustive search of the 2015 IBC (international building codes). Just so that you know, there are no maximum or minimum dimensions listed for snow caves. You are completely justified.
Great video! Thanks for not talking through it, rather, just showing and keeping it entertaining!
Thanks for the great video and awesome music to match it perfectly! What a joy!
This really helped I always build a giant snow an every year so big people come to take pictures I just got bored of it and now I'm thinking about building this !! Thank you
Thanks for putting this vid out. I’m Doing this today, Chicago had a snow storm and it’s still snowing. Gonna hot box tf out of my cave igloo. ✊
That is one fantastic project. Great video.

Great video, Toss the Feathers is such a great song!
OKAYYYY... A+ for the effort and the fall at the end
great job! love the collapse at the end!
That's sick man! This makes me miss winter a lot!
In areas of the country where you are able to get 15 inches or more in less than 24 hours, these things also work well on fire hydrants and storm drains. We just got blasted by a major snowstorm here in the northeast USA on January 23rd-24th 2016. I pulled out the 2 that I bought a few months ago and one of my neighbors and I walked around our hometown for a number of hours cleaning out storm drains and fire hydrants. Between the 2 of us we cleared out more than 25 fire hydrants and more than 60 storm drains in less than 8 hours. Fortunately we haven't had any structure fires in town yet but if we do most of the town is ready to not only reach the water underground but also wash it away underground.
Absolutely amazing job buddy. well done. and great music 2
This is mesmerizing!
Great job Ethan. That was crazy...
Thanks! It's awesome to see your adventures. I came across your tree house video. Trying to make one for my kids. The snow cave looks like a lot of fun, after it is built.
Looks fun :3 I absolutely love snow caves!
wow, this is epic! great work.
Im from west virginia and we just got a big snow. 13 inches and imma try this tomorrow!
Absolutely awesome!!!! Great job!! Must have given you a lot ofpleaSure to see it finished!!! Thanks inspiring!!!!
Follow the link to the other video in the description. It has some shots of the inside of the cave. As well as other craziness. :D
Amazing!! Great video. Thanks for sharing.
A true artist.
it's not misleading, it's the reason it's funny.
That is awesome! I wish I knew what it is like to be in the snow!! Yall are luckyyy! I live in Texas it never snows...
For everyone saying "CLICKBAIT that wasn't three minutes," I'm pretty sure he means building a snow cave time lapsed into an about three minute long video and in the description he says it took five days. So please stop the hate.
Mad camera skills here my boy! and the snow fort? marvelous! I'll need the guided tour of the inside once you have it furnished lol
Fantastic video - Thanks for making it.
This......is.....so....AWESOME!! #LOVESNOW!
Reminds me of three fellow students back in 1967. They planned to do some winter climbing at Memututind, Norway in Easter. They arrived base camp and dug in. Hours later bad weather, snow and storm arrived at base camp (17 people died in Norwegian mountains that Easter). Rest of the week they dug out a full flat: dining room, sleeping, kitchen, lavatory, storage, even a chapel, … but no climbing.
So freakin cool im so jealous that you live in a place in which it snows like that
We are getting a Noreaster over here tonight! Great idea for the kids and I see someone else has the same idea :)
That's really cool! I love videos just like these.. I totally wish people on KZread would make more videos like this! Unfortunetaly they don't. :(
You are amazing! i tried this last year and It ended up too small. i might go to a local park and do it so that not only i can enjoy it but many other people. you gave me something to look forward to this winter!

You are just awesome dude, way to rep the Northwest! I probably live an hour away from you, in Spokane WA :D
I can't believe you built that in 3 minutes!
That is awesome stuff!
Awesome! But, now my kids want me to build one!
if i had a house and lived in state where is snowed i would totally do this! I used to dig holes in snow when i was a kid, it was too much fun
Really cool! And what a job! Man!
that is very cool! well done!
Awesome video!
Cool video, well done! Would have loved to see the inside
lol, very impressive! I wish we’d gotten a tour of the rooms you look like you were making!
Great job!!
this video is so inspiring
Thank you! That bit worked out better by accident than I could have ever hoped to achieve intentionally. :)
Awesome build
Great job!
What a champion! Yes!
music with flashlight was kind of magical :D
Thanks for making, its great! I think you should ask for a backhoe for Christmas!
I dug one out with my hands a few years ago and it was really fun.

that looks so fun
I have watched 30ish snow shelter videos now and can't wait for the winter. Shortly after remembering I live in Florida does it work with sand? Hahah
I think you're wonderful, I enjoy what's being done here
Nice! An igloo with about 2-3 inches of backyard snow made it to be about 5'-6' long in southwestern PA. A little bit of a tight squeeze, however.

Thanks for the video man. I have a school winter camp on Tuesday and we have to build a snow cave for six people and spend three night in it, and i was just wondering how snow caves are made. ( its winter here in NZ)

That was amazing
Woah that was very impressive
Thats amassing
Snow looks like so much fun. I wish I didn't live in the southern US. It never snows here. :(
freaking cool!!
You are so awesome!!!!
The time of the day sure changed fast during those 3 minutes of building :P.
Hey I live in Idaho too, but I am in the Boise area so we probably don't have as much as you, but we still have quite a bit!
That's awesome we just got a few feet of snow here in New England but it's the fluffy stuff can't do anything with it
awesome vid
I just came back from camp and read your reply. We built a snow cave for 6 people and the wall was about a meter. unfortunately it was very windy up in top of New Zealand mountain and at 1:30am the snowcave collapsed on us while we were sleeping. luck that i was able to dig back out and got others out too. I think we didnt really compact the top while we were building. anyway thanks for the reply.
good job
THIS WAS AN INCREDIBLE SNOW CAVE! Lol I get it three minutes for the video, but days for reality. But lots of us would've liked it if you showed us the inside.
Legend
Lol when he fell at the end was so funny
