I put a small patio in my backyard to support my hot tub but my backyard backs up to my neighbors and there was no privacy. I built this pergola attached to my house with privacy slats to solve the problem.
List of supplies"
• 2 2x6s that are 16ft long
• 3 4x4 posts 12ft long, 3ft in the ground making the pergola 9ft tall.
• 18 1x4 10 ft boards for the slats
• 6 hex bolts with washer and nuts for attaching the front board to the posts
• 8 2x6 boards that were 12 ft long
• 8 Simpson Strong-Tie joists for the boards to fit in
• 1 2x4 16 ft long to go over the top to make sure the cross beams stayed in place
• 1 12ft 2x4 which I put in in between the two posts for more stability and so the slats wouldn’t warp over time.
• Half inch by 4 inch Sleeve Anchors for attaching the back beam to the concrete
• 3 80lb bags of concrete
• 2 2x1 10ft wood pieces for the inside of the posts to nail the slats into.
• Bunch of screws for the joists and nails for the nail gun
• 1 gallon of potato skin paint.
