How To Build A Dual Airlock System With The Event Controller!! - Space Engineers
Ойындар
Today I'm going to show you how to build and setup a double/dual airlock system in the Space Engineers Automatons beta by using the new Event Controller block! After a quick intro and explanation of what the system is, I go over how to build a simple singular airlock and set it up without scripts or mods. Once that's done I set up the second airlock system and put it all together to ensure every thing is controlled by a press on a button!

Pretty sure we could optimize this system to only be two blocks wide with some strategic hallway block placements

Or armor panels, door/panel/button/door on one side, door/button/panel/door on the other (or use a sensor, it drains some power but reduces the length to 1 block in the middle and automates it).
That's cool, not exactly what I was talking about with my suggestion on the LastStandGamers vid but close enough. My thoughts exactly are to add 1 event controller + 1 timer block & all doors in a group, set the controller to monitor all doors for "opening" & start the timer when a door is opened. Set the timer to close all doors after a few seconds when triggered. I figured the airlock would be it's own thing & this was a marvelous example of that👍☺
this was verrrry helpfully thanx 🎉
I think you could just press a button on the outside/inside and have the event controller handle the rest, letting you use only one airlock instead of having to build two.

This, by adding a button in front (I usually put them above) each door reduces the system to a single tube with the same setup. Plus you can even ditch the button in the middle, just close the door behind you.
apparently there's a bug with this that prevents the air vents from pressurizing the airlock saying it can't be pressurized, so far i don't know of any way to fix it.
Single timer block. Set all doors in a group. Set to close. Set a time 2-4 second. Close, start self. That simple

Wish I looked down the comments 1st but reading what you put seems like you're describing the "door close" timer that's on most NPC stations & I'm going for something more reaction based so ya don't need a timer block running ALL the time.
real wish you didnt need 2 sets of doors for this

No need just put buttons in front of each door that trigger the closing of the door group. I had the same setup with timer blocks pre event controller.
Hey Jack, love the videos and been a long time sub. I’d love if you could check out one of my projects and maybe do a review on it. I’d love to hear what you think. Thanks and look forward to more reviews!
Haaah! Such a poor design. My friend and I. Have already created a superior design, that can exchange from exterior and interior doors and lock respectively after each transfer. And our design is only 3x3x3 size large blocks with a single open space in the middle.

Pics or it didn't happen
Never understand why people build this over complicated shit when you can just throw down a door on the outside and a curved window on the inside and the base will never lose air. Airtightness has been bugged since the Wastlelands update, half of the time my ships just randomly stop pressurizing after a door has been opened and will only fix itself after a relog.

That's not going to stay broken forever & it's oddly satisfying to do complicated things when it works... Besides who plays SE for "simple", everything takes some tinkering in this game.

I dunno, there's something kind of satisfying about doing actual engineering to solve practical survival problems. Engineering... in spaaace.
