Really like this build, and the walk through is simple and easy to follow. It's giving me lots of ideas. Couple of things though, wouldn't stapling through your waterproof barrier make it no longer waterproof? And wouldn't the staples then be prone to rusting? I know some people use liquid rubber as their waterproof barrier - what are your thoughts on that?

Thanks mate, appreciate it! Yeah unfortunately that does create somewhere for water and moisture to go now, oversight on my behalf but I’ve learnt for the next one now! I’ll probably put a bead of silicone over the staples next time! I don’t know enough about the liquid rubber to be fair, sounds interesting though! Is it something you’ve used before?

@@riddlerreptiles No, not so far but it is something I'm considering trying. I have a TV stand I want to convert and am looking into options for waterproofing. I've seen others use it successfully though.

They are 18mm plywood! To be fair, I probably should’ve specified that, so that’s my mistake 😂

@@riddlerreptiles thank you looking at doing some myself at some point so was between those two thicknesses. Did you stick to hardwood plywood or the marine plywood?

@@Lake_District_Reptiles 12mm is obviously cheaper but you may have to secure the sheets onto a frame, which will then increase the amount of materials you’re buying, whereas the 18mm is strong enough to not need a frame 😁 just the standard hardwood. Being for a royal python it won’t be getting massively humid too often or for too long
