I explained some of this in another comment, but I have a lot more to say about hybrids. It involves extra steps, but it's better to: 1) Get 2 of each hybrid (2 oranges, 2 purples) like shown in the video 2) Use them with each other to get a third one (orange + orange = new orange, purple + purple = new purple) 3) Use your new roses for hybrid red breeding. That's because any flowers that spawned from a pair can act like their parents, but their own color still counts as parents for new flowers. This is a very important rule, as it can give you many otherwise impossible combinations, like this one: White + Yellow = [WhYe] White Red + [WhYe] White = Red, White, Pink or Orange. Yes, you can get an orange rose from a red + white pair ([ReWh] Orange) this way. This isn't normally possible, but it happened because the white rose acted like a yellow rose, one of its parents, and red + yellow does give orange roses. Keep in mind this is just for 2 normal colors. With hybrids, the results might be even crazier, as they have their own separate (and varied) results. If you just jump in with the first hybrids you get for blue roses, you have this: [ReYe] Orange + [WhWh] Purple = [OrPu] (Red, Yellow, White, Purple, Orange or Pink) 6 possible results, and you just want 1 out of these 6 ([OrPu] Red), twice. But if you use hybrids that spawned from other hybrids, you have this: [OrOr] Orange + [PuPu] Purple = [OrPu] (Pink (yes, pink), Orange or Red) Now 1 out of 3 results is the rose you want. You'll notice this difference in-game VERY quickly. My sources are Nookipedia's article about flowers and GameFAQs's Hybrid Flower Guide.

2018, also, I get very lucky sometimes and put two flowers together that I don't even know that can breed another color and I normally end up with a different color on that day. One time I found a black rose and a Black Lily. I didn't even know what I did to make that happen but it was so cool. I thought they just grow randomly in your town. Thanks so much Crystal!

Shoot, I forgot to edit my comment! I realised my mistake after writing it but I could never find it, sorry! It was actually a blue violet, my mistake!!

This guide was probably th3 best I found so far every other guide makes it out to be way more complicated also I did not know you can grow on the beach this will come in handy

Keep trying though! It took me months to get them but when I did it was worth it!

You can unlock the silver and gold watering can (by buying 50 flowers from the garden shop and getting Perfect town for 15 days respectively) to water more flowers as once

I've gotten blue Rose's from black Rose's before but I believe that's rare I also once got blue Rose's with extra hybrid reds that I wasn't using anymore lol

I did it. At long last. After a year of grinding and grinding, I finally have two blue roses that I can breed together to flood my town with. It took me seven months to get my first blue rose, and five to get my second. The reason why is because with my first set, I used two hybrid reds and one Jacob's Ladder with fertilizer, and it was so time consuming. But once I was ready to make my second set, I tried a different approach. I decided to use *three* hybrid reds and *two* Jacob's Ladders with fertilizer, and it actually sped up the process by saving two months! Man. That year of grinding was WORTH IT. I got my second blue rose about five days ago, and now I can finally decorate my town the way I've always wanted. Awesome.

You can to start, but for the actual red roses used to breed the blue roses, they do need to be hybrids.

Question: if your red, yellow and two white roses are hybrids, (the first four flowers you need to breed orange and purple) and you get to the breeding the two red roses to get a blue rose, will it work? There isn't an easy way to tell them apart unfortunately. You'll need to remember where you planted your flowers and keep an eye out for any new red roses.

I've got one blue rose ... but the second one wont bread ... I planted jacobs latter next to the hybrid Red roses and also the blue one ... but i only get purple, orange, black, pink and the normal roses ... I also use ferdalizer ... still nothing ;-;

I NEED blue because I'm making my Dominican Flag

If you speak to Isabell in the town hall about Ordinances, select the Beautiful Town Ordinance and you won't need to water your flowers anymore, they will never wilt

Also make a video of scanning amiibos. (Use a copy because I know you don't time travel from your string fish guide) and travel in time to scan a lot.

They don't guarantee another blue rose, but you should eventually get more if you water two blues :)

You know I did that once and I tried for 2 months to get a blue rose using them and it didn't work. I would recommend just sticking with the roses you *know* are red hybrids and go from there!

You aren't guaranteed to get red, sometimes they'll put out different colours of hybrids before you get red.

It depends on how you got those roses to begin with. It's likely your orange + purple pair is acting like a red + white pair because those are their "parents" (red spawned orange and white spawned purple). Try getting another orange from orange + orange and another purple from purple + purple, then use THESE to breed your hybrid reds.

I've been trying to get hybrid reds but I've gotten a white and a pink from the purple and orange roses

Careful! They are not hybrids and will not work! Sort them out and put them away as they will just complicate things. They are regular roses

So a few days ago I was planting a red tulip and a yellow tulip. I come back today to water them with my new watering can.but guess what I find?an orange tulip.omg
