To everyone here, 1.91 million units is how many TTYD sold on GC. For a Mario game that’s very low, Double Dash had sold 6.96 million, Sunshine with 5.91. TTYD was the 12th best seller on GameCube granted, but still wasn’t a huge seller until around now, because of the remake being on a console owned by more people because God rest the GameCube it was in a generation with the PlayStation 2.

This glitch is mostly used for prologue pit of 100 trials, since it lets you get the best hammer during the prologue, making the pit much easier if you so choose

Well I have reached 90 at the Pit of 100 trails without this glitch. (And not defeating the 1st boss) it's quite easy actually. It's a nice glitch though ^^​@@AstronOtter

@@ARod3no, you make a SECOND, separate file to get to chapter 2 with, then you take jump storage from that file into a different file that is in the prologue still. Thus letting you do a challenge where you do the Pit of 100 trials while still in the prologue. From a playing the game normally stand point, there isn’t much reason to do this, I don’t even know if any of the current speedrun routes do this since there are so many other ways to break the game to go fast. But it is a way to try to beat Bonetail not just before hooktail, but before recruiting Koops who you would have in a glitchless pre Hooktail pit attempt as you need the second paper power to access the pit normally

Did this with the moon jump and action replay. Would be cool if it worked in the remake lol

You can also open the chest much easier on the side, but there is cetain timing and spacing to open it, but at least you have more than one chance :) also you don't have to gameover to reset, there is a button combination to manually reset the game (if you know the button combo pls respond)

Paper Mario 64 is still far more broken than this sequel

Obv this isn't possible in the remake

Thats always cool but I would still get it the normal way. I think for the experience, its a better idea. I wouldnt not ruin the game at least for the first time.

Playing paper mario ttyd on emulator right now, its fun

Not sure how it compares, but you can just drop to its bottom-right, where you'll be able to stand next to it, then you can turn left and have to press A the moment the ! appears above Mario. Doing so, there's no risk of falling and having to redo the Koops thing, and you may try the timing with the ! again.

I had way more trouble doing that than just tap jumping towards the eye and pulling back if I mess up. Standing on the side, unless you know what you're doing, can just kinda push you off and you have to do it over again. I've never failed jumping off since I did it the first time

In the second save file, you only go a quarter into the game. The hammer isn't available until 3/4 into the game normally

Yeah, but if you want to do it in the prologue, you have to have a separate file either way since you won't have koops yet.

Holy fuck speedrun tactics although I did get that one shine sprite without the ultra boots it’s the one in the sewers with spinias all I did was jump on one of the shine blocks & super hammered the one on top I cheesed it without the ultra boots it’s incredible ❤

I'm so excited for the dlc! haven't played in a couple months but that is gonna reignite the game for me.

Is it just me or they removed being able to control the direct of falling to the sides so you can’t land on the sprite boxes? Like the one at hooks castle? I couldn’t for the life of be land on it after two hours of trying.

I’ve always felt glitches like this shouldn’t be on speed runs, glitches themselves are fine, but to have another save where the time isn’t added shoudnt be allowed imo. Tho it is a fun glitch

I am fine with it as long as it is its own subcatagory seperate from regular glitch runs that do not allow save glitches or it has to be total time recorded playing meaning not using in game timers, but an out side timer.

You would also have to dig out your Game Cube first

I have no way to do it automatically, so it took me about 10-15 minutes to do the first bit and I didn't want to spend an hour or two doing the rest. Gets peoples attention better. Once I have a way to do it automatically I plan on putting it the whole way through

Once you get jump storage it's incredibly easy. Getting storage can be a little tedious, but the related video under my profile shows how to do it. Definitely easier on an emulator where you can save a couple seconds before you actually attempt it

Its a real glitch. I explain it in another one of my shorts, but you basically can get the game to cancel a jump halfway by using koops overworld ability as you enter a cutscene. then if you walk up a step and jump, it just keeps giving you upward momentum until you let go

Some people search for weird things like this, but realistically, someone probably accidentally activated it a while ago by just being funny and then other people found applications for it

That’s like a 1 frame window and it’s huge risk. I recommend falling onto the right side of the chest and keep jimmying your way towards the chest to make the exclamation mark appear

i had way more luck with this. the main thing about it is to not be afraid to pull back a jump early. I've never missed it once i actually jump off, it just takes a few tries for me to not hold up one jump early. I never actually got the right side of the chest to work.

there are ways to do it without the hammer, but the boots are required to hit the switches that open the pipes. You can do it by either textbox buffering with ms. mowz in chapter 5, or by doing a think that i talk about in my frankly video involving a frame perfect jump when entering the room. both ways put you on top of the big block and you can get to the pipes without breaking it.
