Got Red on my first playthrough, it blew my mind when my sister was playing through the game and I saw that she got a white one. He had unique hair and everything.

The first time I played through TTYD back in '04, my Yoshi pal was blue. My first playthrough in the remake, he was red. Decided to name him after my pet cat that unfortunately passed away a few months ago because he was my buddy for a good 14 years. You'll never be forgotten, Bobby...

I feel bad because when riding him he looks like he’s struggling to carry you especially when hovering

Downside: This game added so much dialogue for party members but Yoshi's is all I read because of this.

Or let me guess, there's a toad that made a vague mention of yoshis like 3 chapters ago and it's my fault for not spending hours not making progress to talk to every NPC available after every single story event on the off chance they might make a vague mention of something, right?

​​@@damiencouturee6240 You got a wide window from when you get the egg and you are told so. It's not the game's fault you pick up the egg just before you are forced to do so.

Some little known knowledge is that if you name your save file one of the seven available colors you will always get that color. A save file named "blue" will always give you the blue yoshi for example.

I know someone already asked, but does this apply to the remake? Because I'm planning on getting it, (didn't get to play the original), and pink is my favorite color, so that's the color yoshi I want!

Baby Yoshi is definitely an amazing partner! His tough guy, Gonzales, shtick is a very unique personality for a Mario game. But there are a handful of incredible choices for best partner in ttyd. It is hard for me honestly to choose a favorite! He is definitely a contender though! Also, putting attack up badges on him is busted and breaks the game 😅

Imagine if you wait 1 hour and you shiny Sticker Star style Baby Yoshi as a Easter egg.

They haven't revealed more Yoshi colors but it would be great if we got more colors.

My first 3-4 playthroughs making it to the Glitz Pit I had only ever got green, so a few years later when I hit pink I was FLABBERGASTED.

I didn't even know he came in other colors until a few days after I got him. I just played normally and ended up getting the orange one. Had I known I would've went for the black or white one.

I've been playing this game for 20 years and I've only ever gotten Pink Yosh. It is destiny.

A good thing to note is, I believe the timer does reset! So after 20 minutes, it'll go back to green and start all over!

I tried so hard to let the my first playthrough yoshi be random, but ngl I lowkey wanted blue just to name it Boshi. Gotta say I'm quite happy that I was able to hatch it!

You forgot to mention that you can override the time requirement by naming the game file the color of yoshi you want.

I got white in the remake. I named him Snowfall. It's cool also because npcs say his name. He is also the only one that calls you Gonzales because that's the only name he knows Mario by.

I named mine Luigi, beacsue I felt thats what Mario would do

He is awesome. I love his attitude, too. I was trying to get the pink one, counting and everything, and got the white one and named him Percival. In my next playthrough I will definitely get the pink one and name him Cherry (Sakura are trees are cherry trees) hence the name Cherry.

I remember my oldest brother used to have the black Yoshi. I forgot what he named him ("Bo" or "Levi"? Getting close.). My youngest brother also play this game, and he has a pink Yoshi. I don't what he named him, but I think it was "Berry" (rhymes with his name). I, too, play this game and beat it. My Yoshi was Green, and I'm okay with it. His name is actually simple: "Yoshi", because he has the original color. Though, now that I look at the time chart, I think I do remember having a pink and white Yoshi as well, but just for testing. My youngest brother and I started to wonder how we got different colored Yoshi, and went searching in the internet.

My first playthrough, I got the red one, second playthrough i got the blue one. Also, something give me the thought that if he was given a name instead of us having to choose a name for him, it’d be something that has the name ‘Yoshi’ in it, maybe like a nickname variant of Yoshi. Like the name ‘Goombella’. Just Goomba and Bella. ‘Koops’, Koopa and the word “Oops”.

I still remember my first ever playthrough I got a Red yoshi probably because I got lost not understanding what they meant by "watering hole" (juice bar) and wandered around with the egg for an extra 5 minutes lol I didn't find out about all these other colors until years later! blue yosh is objectively the best yoshi color

I literally thought it was the same color as the save game color file, that's how I changed my yoshi color, and ig it worked

If they add any other color I'd hope they'd add at purple just for a reference to the first game, were a purple yoshi kid says to Mario, I wish I could go with you, and so far the best name I've seen for the baby dino is Scrap it works on a number of levels Scrap can refer to a small animal, as soon as he hatches out of the egg he is ready to get into a Scrap, and he's made out of a Scrap of paper it just works really well

the first color I got when I started paper mario thousand year door was red/cherry I was happy cause I thought I did something to get him

In the remake i just wanted to see which one i would get and i got blue and named him bubbles

When I was a kid I only ever got the green one 😂 I didn’t know this was a possibility until later on in life

Favourite color is Coconut but hey I got red in my recent playthrough and it’s by no means bad either

The animation for the ride partners just look weird to me. And considering you have to always see the *visuals,* they're pretty important.
