I'm here because I'm a 21 year old woman and my mama said it's time for me to start braiding my own hair because apparently I have to grow up...

Thank you for this video! I am a mother of mixed kids & I refuse to be uneducated on their hair... I’ve been braiding for a few months but this video is the only one I’ve found that’s showed me how to hold my fingers right while doing it! I can now make the braids more clean cut & crisp! THANK YOU AGAIN!!!!!

I am also looking for more resources to learn how to do my niece/nephews hair! Its part of my auntie duties lol
I like how you pause to show how you use your fingers to grab more hair, but the hair itself is blocking the visual. But the best tutorial I've seen so far.

Sorry guys, I haven’t learned. I gave up after a few attempts, I was trying to do my own hair so I guess that made it harder since I couldn’t see! For others that want to learn I recommend practicing on someone else, like a sister, brother, mom or grandma!
My problem is how to move my fingers 🖐 God help me it's taken me years to learn😭

I just watched this video yesterday, and I was able to do cornrow for the very first time. Thank you so much
I learned how to cornrow when i was 7 or 8 but i just enjoy these videos
This looks so easy, but somehow I created a twist instead of a braid.what do you suggest for silky hair? I have a hard time keeping the three sections going.
it's not the braiding I need help with it's having all my cornrows go straight back and not slanting or the middle braid stopping in the middle of my hair.... anyone know what I'm talking about
@hairbyoj8373

+Barefaced Beauty do one cornrow per side until you reach the middle, this should prevent slanting :)

Thus may sound like a silly question but as we're moving down the hair where is the rest of the hair going?. Is it going into the three seperates naturally. ?? Or am I missing something?? X
Thanks very much....your slow motion has made a great difference. Stay blessed.
Thanks. This video really helped. I have two girls. So, definitely need to learn how to braid.

I appreciate this video so much! I wanna try to get my cousin (she is mixed) to connect with her culture, and make her feel like she can be proud of herself because some kids at school are bullying her because she isnt white. Her mom is white, and her dad is black and her mom doesnt know how to braid. Thank you so so much!
Is there ever a time the hair has to be detangled/moisturized, and then dried as you go, like, by section? Or is better braiding it dry after you've detangled, moisturized, and dried the entire head of hair? Not talking about washing, but if there ever needs to be a focus on moisturize before someone has braids in for a while, to prevent breakage?
I’m going to university next month I really need to learn this
Amazing; your tutorial is so clear. Thanks. I can now do cornrows.

I am impressed with the art plaiting hair. How do you do it on a squirmy 2-3yr old subject? Hypnotize or knock them out?
Momma can't braid my hair forever. I'm 17, it's time I learn 😂
Yes I finally did it YES!!!!!! and it only took me 45 years!!!!

My problem is making sure that the braid is staying tight and not getting my fingers mixed up. How do you suggest keeping the braids tight at the beginning of the braid? Anyone? Tips?? Please help me!! Also I'm braiding super super thick hair!

What's the sound for?
I have 5 girls and a son. My momma never knew how to braid. My goal is to be that go to of course for my babies
My question is how do you get them to not have any fly always or stick ups?!?! Is there a product you put in it first or on your hands?!
@hairbyoj8373
5 жыл бұрын
Nope that just depends on how tight you’re braiding or the texture of the person’s hair but you could use things like gel for a sleek look although I prefer not to
It worked thank you

I’m a 19 year old boy and I’m tryna start cornrows but my hair too short apparently😒 what’s the minimum hair length i need to start braiding?
@hairbyoj8373
5 жыл бұрын
Shadouken no minimum length, when it reaches a length where you can easily pick it up
My mother knows how to cornrow, French braid, braided buns, her hands got specialty. My mom stopped doing my hair about 3 years ago. I’m trying to learn to braid on my scalp cause I want to have cute hairstyles at school, not the same slick back low bun I always wear. 😭💀
I tried but wasn’t getting it but I parted it and did little puffs instead 😩
This reminds me of all the times many years ago sitting still while my mom braided my hair. She still does its occassionally but its much harder on her hands 😔 (dont let the profile pic fool you, my hair is not short anymore and its pretty much exactly like the woman in this videos hair!)
Very clear!!!! I wished I could have watched before I struggled too much with my babys hair...
@hairbyoj8373
7 жыл бұрын
+akondyla aww thanks and at least you won't struggle in the future !
The part I don't get is how you add the hair to make it go back with hair on your hair
Do u grab more hair every time or just some times?
@hairbyoj8373
5 жыл бұрын
You grab more hair as you go along or it won’t stick to the scalp
