How To BOUNCE A VOLLEYBALL (Volleyball Tutorial)
Спорт
Learn how to bounce a volleyball for an impressive spike, taught by Professor PenuelJoshBarrina. I've never really trained to bounce a volleyball since all my training was geared toward scoring points in a game, which included tooling the block, swinging for deep corners, and challenging the block high. Now that I'm not playing as competitively as before, I set myself a new goal to finally learn how to BOUNCE A VOLLEYBALL! This is my first lesson with Josh Barrina, the bounce master, in trying to spike the ball straight down. I don't advise doing this in game. Haha.

#1 Commit to the jump #2 Start spiking approach earlier #3 Wait for the ball to drop so you can hit directly on top #4 Stay tall with a straight elbow #5 Jump as close to the ball as possible Straight up and down

so what i do is i start my approach slow then when i see the path of the ball i do the last 2 steps quickly into the direction of the ball. before that i had terrible timing but then my coach told me to watch older grades spiking and he asked " what do you see them doing?" and i said "they start their approach slow and then when they know where the ball is they speed up there last 2 steps

Professor's reactions are the best part of this video. Good stuff.
For some reason This is my go-to video for volleyball motivation. Always gets me exited and makes me want to play volleyball.

Getting a hit straight down is so nice in game
it helps when you can get your head above the net

Yeah jumping and getting at least your eyes or chin above the net makes it easier to spike straight down.

that moment when you realize that coach learns how to bounce in a couple of minutes
These videos actually help me so much it’s crazy
can't wait to see Coach use this during a game
You guys both have such great snap on the ball. Josh's armswing is so insanely fast as well :O
First guy gets his head above the net, second guy gets his chest above the net.
yall together is so great and professor you bounce is so sick
this is a great video and I keep watching it over and over again. great job on learning how to bounce and such a great teacher! personally, I'm struggling alot with teaching myself how to bounce. I've done it perfectly less times than I have fingers on one hand. do you guys think you could make an even more in depth video about it and maybe also some trouble shooting? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks once again
i really love this....if you know the joy in volleyball you will always love the be on court
I really enjoy the sport and I am starting to hit hard but not straight down this really helped
This guy is the prove that every short person can bounce the ball so crazy😮❤
Josh's reactions are amazing and funny af hahahaha
This is utterly amazing!
I love you guys for this! I watch you and Josh play through here and his KZread page and hope one day I meet you guys at a tourney or something here in Cali! I'm here in the 916 so we close homie! I always struggled with how to bounce a Vball. I'm 5'7 with a 2 1/2 foot vertical. I shall now take what the professor has taught and apply it next open gym!!

+Elevate Yourself hitting over the ht of net is huge improvement
in match i mainly score by block out, though there is nothing wrong with this scoring method but i really want to bounce it hard on the floor this video helped me alot only time i bounce the ball on attack line is when in training setter set the ball over the net a bit
Josh has perfect form!
I thought the first guy was good, then I saw the second guy
Thanks for the video!
Thanks this really helped a lot!

Theres something called "the block" ;-) if the spike is as aggressive as this there should be a block already waiting for it ! (the rest is only part of the genes who's taller or able to jump higher...!

This depends on how experienced the person is. I mean I could have a powerful jump serve with topspin, but what about side spin? Are they right handed or left handed. You just need time on the court.
Love your videos man! Just started playing volleyball and loving it! I can spike really hard but it always goes out of the court! People tell me I jump really high but seem to not be able to hit the ball down! I'ma put your lessons to practice and hopefully I can put all that power spiking to good use! Power is good but disipline is key! You got yourself a new subscriber! 🤗

good bounce coach....it motivated..
I was a setter for a coed team and it was epic
This is impressive. *notes down* Congratulations on your first bounce! The next ones will be easier!
Very good

+Elevate Yourself but you dont show HOW to bounce a villeyball. i think there was one example inside 10 ft. i did that from back row. no drills on how to jump or increase vert or horizontal. weak
Hi coach ; how can we increase speed of hand swing? What exercises do you recommend
I can do that if only the net was lower😂😂
Hey Coach Donny, love your videos! Been playing volleyball for a while but can't seem to get the right connection when I'm standing and spiking, like during pepper or when you or Josh spike to each other, bump, set, then net spike. Any tips?!
Daaaaaaaam Coach Donny
if ya'll are ever in Toronto Canada hit the HITman up!! :) Love all your vids btw, learned a lot from the both of you!
hitting trough the middle from 1 meter line, yes if you are middle, it is totally different when you hit from opposite or outside, ball is coming from the side and you hitting parallel or diagonally, this spike its brutal because ball is dropping straight to the floor, and you just need to slam it down :D
@richgolfs
8 жыл бұрын
blockers hands should be surrounding the ball. nothing brutal here
nice trick
Nice sir
When trying to bounce should you have the same contact, and wrist snap, etc as if you were spiking normally?
Josh a great bounce master......
Nice, i like it :D
Should do another video and see the comparison from 4 years ago !
How do them Kobe XIs feel? Thinking about getting myself a pair

1:02 when you jumped, could you see over the net? can't really tell because of the angle. i'm curious how high you actually need to jump to his it like this
Nice of you to assume I can get my head above the net
Coach, I'm having trouble hitting the ball in the middle or ontop. In my float serve I never get a good float and just always hit it. On my spikes I never hit it with the middle of my hand, always the side or just my fingers. Any help?
I'm 5'10" on a good day and good shoes. I'm told I jump too soon so I have to work on that but my dream is to get the bounce down!
You are channeling your inner hinata and kageyama😤😌
It certainly helps that the professor jumps out the gym. :)
Coach, how can I improve my jump training if I don't have weight lifting facilities or if I want to do it in my house

Elevate Yourself thanks!
What is the exact difference from hitting the ball normal?? I see it goes more down somehow
thanks broscience
My first spike was a Bounce...It was adrenaline rush
Hello, I would like to know how tall the network is, and how many feet you have, thanks.
Step 1. Once you have passed the ball prepare to approach Step.2 the ball is now In reach of the setter, your first step to you approach is now in action Step 3. Once the ball is in the air you should be a step away from jumping Step 4. Take a step and jump, once in the air bend your legs back and put your hitting arm behind your head getting ready for the spike Step 5. Whip your arm and your wrist to get top spin on the ball Step .6 make sure you have extended your legs while hitting to get more power Step 7. Get a good landing and don’t crosses over the line
whats the difference between the reg spike and a bounce? it is to hit the ball to the ground as close to u as possible?
you guys are jokersss! thanks for the video. I also had a question, for middle hitters how do you time hits for quicks and meter sets? are there any good drills for improving approach and what to look for when jumping to spike? much appreciated!
@taylermichaelson7421
8 жыл бұрын
+Vince Law From my personal experience I've learned that the timing for a meter is to leave when your setter sets the ball. Once the ball is leaving the setters hand you should start your approach. Now when a real true quick is set, you should already be up in the air and already swinging. True quicks are honestly very uncommon to see I find. The setter and the middle have to have strong dynamics and the setter essentially has to set the ball into the swinging arm motion. I had this coach once who played in china professionally and my team and I were just messing around playing some pickup and we got him to play with us. He was setting and after a few sets he came up to me and said. "Why you look at me when I set you the ball? Do you not trust me?" So I was hitting middle and just did my approach and armswing and next thing I knew I was hitting a ball. It was definitely a crazy experience to just think to yourself "Im selling the quick" and next thing you know you're burying a ball. After that, I never looked at quicks the same way again. I personally think its all about who your setter is.

+Tayler Michaelson having afast setter helps emminesly. trying run a quick from a slow setter is difficult. set to his hand. not a point in space. too many setters taught a quick is a few inches over net. might as well syand at net and hit into block.
hi coach donny, Im from the Philippines. I really wanted to bounce a ball. can you do more bounce lesson for me?
Can you make another How to Bounce tutorial?
How high is the net ? How many blocks from your hand coach ?
Coach Donny what position do you play??
I could only bounce the ball on a quick middle. High set outside will just end up deep for me.

Deep is a smarter hit in a game than a hit str8 down. You are often gonna get blocked unless you have zero blockers on you then it’s a highlight.😂
I wanna ask how tall are you bc if you can bounce well and if I’m around you height o might be able to do it if I work on my jump a little more
tip try to aim for the front court for better bounce
how tall are you? and how high is the net?
Totally haven’t been watching these videos since I’ve made the school team
What's the difference between hitting high (like you used to)and bouncing?
wait so is there a difference between bouncing the ball or spiking it or am I just getting these terms mixed up?
@quinnk8248
4 жыл бұрын
Ninja Tuna a bounce is when you spike it and it lands in front of the attack line
hey coach, how to tip and roll (make a feint)ball from back attack,?,
I think I get the difference~? a spike is aimed on the back zone while a bounce is aimed at the front zone? it should be the setter's job to make the ball go near the center line so it's easier to aim, right? and wouldn't that be risky cuz the blocker could've reached that ball before the spiker hits it?
Bounce is when your spike goes before the 3 meters line ?
