Let me add a Philosophical quandary: You, random reader, are the last chance for humanity's survival. You have some quirk, something, that will ensure the continuity of the world forevermore. However... You have seen nothing but the dark side of humanity. You've seen how low it will go for its own self-preservation of previous structures of power. You have, simply put, seen and probably rightly judged maybe some of humanity should not be saved. The portion that should not be saved, however, has all of that sweet advanced technology which will save humanity. Is humanity truly worth saving if the bad guys have all the power and are not willing to share it freely?

The movie is almost nothing like the books. They were not just zombies. Infected people did mentally degrade and often could become cannibalistic. But it was far far worse than a basic zombie virus. Some people would kill themselves because the virus caused severe pain or auditory hallucinations. Additionally there were ways to slow the effects of the flare but not any cure.

@@iddennah8015 there comes a point tho when you gotta ask, is this even the same story. Have we changed so much that the story no longer makes sense. The people infected were still people. Even the head of wicked was infected which was discovered at the end. This caused him to become insane and perform inhumane experiments in search of the cure but ultimately there would be none. Even had he gotten his way. Even some infected characters had major significance in progressing the story and bargaining with or helping Thomas and his group. All infected showing varying degrees of madness in different and interesting ways as the virus eats their minds.

In the book WICKED only interfered when Thomas got shot, and the only reason they did so was because having guns wasn’t supposed to be part of the trial

The cranks(zombies) were still human in the books, just gone insane, they could also speak. The way I would beat them is to follow the rule of the runners, Never stop running. P.S. Minho nicknamed Janson "Rat Man"

Well, some of them, the interesting part about this is that there are different stages some just have weird behaviour that may go on for months some are starting to turn insane and some are completely zombified.

If the Scorched(zombie folk) are attracted to loud sounds and noises, what I would do is if I knew Wicked was following me, I would set up a trap in a cave for them, they follow me inside while making sure I have an escape route, then set off a ton of noise and lights all around the cave, making the Wicked soldiers Scorch food

In the book they aren't just zombies, the flare (the disease) in the books makes them slowly go insane over the course of about 2 years in when they get to the near zombie stage, but they could still talk and had at least a real basic idea of what was going on, for example, in the book when a 2 year infected crank was chasing them they hid in a dark closet and the crank looked for them in there seeing it as a hiding spot

To be honest, of all the "young adults in post apocalyptic world" movies that came out in 2010s, like Divergent, Hunger Games, etc. Maze Runner trilogy was probably the most enjoyable go watch. Movies were quick and efficient, without 20 minute dialogues, action was cool and high energy, and even the premise was probably most believable. Really dumb fun movies they were.

That's cause James Dashner's book series is far better than the pile of trash that is the Hunger games. The first movie was so good cause it stayed faithful to the book. In the second and third they just went their own way which is what made them so messy. Still enjoyed the action and drama, and Teresa's death hit hard.

also the movies don't ever explain it, but the reason Newt gave Winston the gun and let him off himself is connected to the fact that he tried to kill himself before because the maze was too much for him to handle but he failed and wound up permanently damaging his leg so he kinda sympathized with Winston wanting to kill himself to end his suffering so that's why it was him

However, if you threaten them so much, right from the beginning, wouldn't it make more sense for them to kill you at the first opportunity, instead of cooperating with you ? Sure, they won't deliver you to your enemies, but you'll be dead before you know it.

You solved all the right arm's problems in just a few minutes that's badass. I think we need more people like you that now what they are taking about.

One of the things that always bothered me is that they just left a perfectly good weapon with a person who wasn't going to use it anymore...like i get you wsnt to respect his wishes but you have limited supplies don't leave a good gun with a dead man

the books are much better than the movies imo. theyre more thought out and loved characters who are IMMUNE in the books dont die because they arent immune in the movies >:(

Honestly, Theresa has a good point. It seems like Wicked really is the only group capable of saving humanity, and from what it shows in the movie, they aren't really hurting anyone or making anyone suffer, besides when they are attacked or are conducting a raid against the known hostile group that has been warring with them, and even then they were using mostly non-lethal weapons such as taser guns and stun grenades. Are Wicked really the bad guys here, because it doesn't seem like it.

@Darkgun231 yeah except they're not the same thing? Walkers are zombies, dead bodies reanimated. Cranks are infected humans. They are alive and have a virus in their brains that made them crazy. They are completely different things. Reanimated dead vs living person who has a virus that drove them mad.

26:16 Wdym? Outside of the bullet hole, what about this situation screamed trap? It's a line of abandoned cars in an apocalypse. What about that would be considered odd? Especially if you've been locked up for who knows how long inside a giant maze? Any number of things could have happened to explain the line of abandoned cars. I mean there are tall buildings that are almost completely turned over and there are massive holes lining the streets, is a bunch of abandoned cars on a canyon really so strange? Honestly the bullet hole is the first indication that something's wrong and even then since this is a zombie apocalypse it's not THAT strange either. It only really starts feeling obvious after you start being shot at. In this particular scenario I would have thought that it was more likely that we would encounter zombies within the tight spaces of the road full of cars rather than an ambush.

I jumped on this immediately as I saw it 🤩🤩🤩🤩

i loved maze runner 1. was massively put off after watching 2, then watching 3 quite some time after and was pure deja vu. only ever watched em on netlfix but pretty sure it mistitled one cuz i watched the third one as the second apparently, never actually seen the second and refuse to now aswell as anymore that have come out.
