It’s utterly criminal there’s no option to skip cutscenes

Fun fact: Mortiorchris is actually absorbing health from Seymour, not the other way around. This translates into additional health loss for Seymour, which is great for everyone...except Seymour.

FML. Seymour had 6 hp left, then he used Total Annihilation and killed all my people. WHY!!!! SO CLOSE!!!!

I've been trying to beat this boss for 2 days now. I just tried your strategy and it worked FLAWLESSLY!

@@DJFVH22 I remember trying to get the anima summon and I didn't get the destruct sphere from besaid island had to go back to the temple in besaid and get past dark Valefor was so underpowered ZANMATO Helped me there too 😭 rolling back the years

Hasting Yuna, Overdriving all of her Aeons and using Lulu's poison did the trick. Died so many times to this guy and finally beat him.

He keeps one shoting my whole team he does 3000 damage with the cleavers WTF

You need to set your party so tidus is out as soon as the battle starts, make sure yuna is in the middle, get tidus to use haste on yuna then use all your aoen overdrives

You need to summon them then attack enemies, but make sure aeon doesn't die, or you have to restart the process, stay close to a save point so you can heal them between battles

Basically make sure you have grand summon and all aeons have their gauge all the way up.

Let’s be real here, Seymour deserves this, thanks for the great video I’m so glad I don’t have to watch that cutscene again

Dude. Thank you. I just did exactly what you did and finished him with Bahamuts overdrive. I spent so much time on this boss.

I had been playing the remaster on PS4 and thought that I wouldn't be able to progress any further in the game because of this aggravating boss battle. After watching this, I realized that my Tidus hadn't learned Hastega yet. After learning it, I beat Seymour the first try. Thanks for the help!

THANK YOU!! I followed this to a T and the only attack Seymour got in on me was the first Lance of Atrophy. This guide made this battle a piece of cake

I suppose I made a mistake in taking Tidus down the sphere grid instead of to the left where hastega is because I didn't think it would come in handy. Welp, I hope haste alone is enough because there's no way I'm grinding my way over to hastega right now.

i fully understand that this comment is six years old, but for anyone else reading, you can go backwards across nodes you've already claimed four times for every sphere level, so going backwards isn't a huge hassle

You saved my life! When I watched my brother, frustrated and on his third attempt of Seymour Flux when I was younger, I was scared about getting to this point in my own run years later. Beat him in 7 minutes! :)

Thank you for this video! I started playing the game recently and this boss was giving me a headache. I was able to overkill him with Bahamut's overdrive. I also first used haste on Yuna and had Lulu poison him first. I've done an absurd amount of walking around and fighting random battles for points so that helped a lot too. (I think this is called grinding?'haha) I would like to see more tutorials like this one from you! I am currently trying to beat the next boss (Sanctuary keeper) and I was hoping I to find a tutorial by you for it!

Using the international sphere grid is much funner. Lulu taking auron's path, Yuna taking Tidus', Auron taking Yuna's, etc. Great video!

Holy crap, thanks. This was the only strat that worked for me. He kept one-shotting me if I tried any other method and I didn't feel like grinding out levels to survive that.

I must thank you. I just beat him using this method. Tidus’ reaction to defeating him is EXACTLY how I felt! ‘AND STAY UP THERE!’

Worked like a charm, thanks! Also few things to note: -Equip Tidus with a weapon that has First Strike on it so he can for sure get the first turn and cast Haste -Hastega is not necessary, if you don't have it just cast Haste on Yuna and you should be fine -Rikku's Hazardous Shell mix can inflict Poison and Silence at the same time as well as damage, but it doesn't always work properly and the statuses don't last indefinitely Before trying this strat I managed to get him to 6k HP without Aeon spam, and then, Total Annihilation happened. F%&k this boss.

This worked like a charm. Seymour died when my Bahamut used it's overdrive. I typically dislike cheesing bosses, but I was getting frustrated with this and just wanted to beat it. Thanks John! #JohnGlasscock2020

@Dan Won there's so many strats to beat him without a single summon. You can beat him without even levelung up. Just learn the mechanics of the game and figure it out

Thanks for this. Died twice , grinded for a bit then overdrived everyone. He didnt live past my 3rd Aeon with a Auron and Wakka overdrive and Bio. Great strategy.

I pulled this game out today and play for the first time in a couple years. This time, I defeated this boss much different than the first time(s). Complete the Chocobo Training in the Calm Lands the first time you get there. After you can ride one, go to the Requiem Temple and do the Chocobo Race until you get the win with 3 chests and no poles which is really easy. This gives you 30x Wings to Discovery. Rikku can mix two of these for Trio of 9999 which gives every attack, physical or magic, 9999 damage. Buy 30x Holy Waters from the monster arena keeper to make one of Tidus' armours have Zombieward. When you get to the boss, have Tidue, Rikku and Lulu up. Cast Haste (if you dont have Hastega yet) on Rikku and have her mix two of the Wings of Discovery. Use Lulus overdrive for 5-6 hits of 9999. Hopefully Tidus either dodged Lance of Atrophy or avoided the Zombie status. Have him attack Seymour however you want (you probably dont have the Overdrive Slice n Dice yet). Use any gem with Rikku and thats 5 more hits of 9999. If he isnt dead yet, use whatever remaining turns you have to keep Rikku alive so she can use another gem and thats that.

Thank you man, this was infuriating til I realised I should go in with all aeons charged, made for really easy work.

Glasscock I also have FFX-2 (currently down that deep dark hole fighting bosses back to back) And I have FFII (I'm at Draklors Lab) I'm a big final fantasy lover. And I'm playing these all old school ps2 way.

FFX-2 is amazing also, even though it's very hard to get 100% it's a lot of fun. Reminds me a lot of XIII-2 which is another one of my favorites

For those of you who don’t have hasteaga just use regular haste on Yuna and your problem is solved. Also thanks so much for the video I have been stuck on this boss for ages and this worked like a charm I can’t thank you enough!

Best vid! I tried for ages to beat this boss and watched this vid and voila lol....! Thanks heap I also used my overdrives between summons.. swapping 1 player and always keeping yuna and tidus..... I had to grind till i got hastega its a crappy long process but def is easier if you have it

I know, I usually get tidus to cast hasteaga then casts protect with yuna. Then dispell comes and annihilation. Zombie and full life. So what I did for a second time was summon yojimbo and hopely he casts zanmato.

This worked a treat, thank you

I will be working on this next week as im stuck on that part, it's my least favourite battle in FFX. I will take the overdrives as well and see what happens.

I was able to do it without Hastega though. You just need to haste Yuna.

This by far is the greatest strategy. I was so over leveled that I ended up finishing him off after the 4th aeon.

Crazy how it only took you 10 mins and no one took damage except the aeons. I definitely have to unlock the Hastega and Bio, also I gotta a little bit more on Tidus, Auron, and Wakka. Ty for this tutorial 🥲 wish I would’ve watched it sooner to save me some time Update: I finally beat him 😭 tysm

It’s crazy how much this guide trivializes the whole fight. I’ll just add that you don’t even need hastega, just using haste on Yuna alone will do the trick. Use all 5 aeon overdrives in a row coupled with lulu’s bio and you’ll be good.

I don’t remember him being hard the first time around when I played the original years ago. Thanks I also found out that if you cast reflect when they make you a zombie and do full life it doesn’t work. I may have just done that the first time around.
