How To Be Yourself Without Apology

BE YOURSELF//POSITIVE SELF-IMAGE
Many among us are often scared to truly be ourselves. We scared to feel good about ourselves, believe in ourselves or acknowledge ourselves for who we are and the strenghts and gifts we have. It can feel vulnerable to be ourselves and to create a positive self-image and we often don't know who to truly feel good about who we are because no one told us we could.

I stopped dating. And i found my authentic self. I stopped censoring my clothes and hair because i thought my true way of dressing was not sexy or attractive to men. I made myself more mainstream. I didn't feel free. When i stopped dating i freed myself from all that. I started dressing in ways that made me happy. I am quirky and awkward and sexy clothes don't suit my deepest, most authentic self. Now that i am free, i wear my loose dresses, bloomers, short bangs, knee socks, whatever without a single thought of whether men will like this. I HAVE NEVER FELT SO FREE AND SO MUCH INTEGRITY OF WHO I AM!!. if i decide to start dating again, my aim is to not go back. If a person is the right person for me, they will be attracted to my authentic self. Period.

Stepping into your true self is one of the hardest but most rewarding things you can do for your overall health as an adult. I think it starts with not needing to explain yourself to everyone and learning how to advocate for the things you want in life. Best of luck to everyone who's on their own journey back to themselves!

I've noticed that whenever I feel natural, like I'm behaving like my true self, I keep getting looks from others where the look on their face is like: "What the hell are YOU doing? What gives YOU the right to be confident and filled with unapologetic self-belief?" It's actually hilarious the more conscious I become of who I am. Self concept is what EVERYTHING hinges on.

I never realized how much other people's opinion of me mattered, until I saw myself compromising on my core beliefs hoping my boyfriend would fall for me. I finally realized no matter how much I tried to conform, I was not being true to myself, and would not like myself as long as I allowed myself to be manipulated by another person. It is better to be alone, and be authentic then try to make others like you and be miserable. The moment you let your guard down, and get pounced on by another person, you either become a door mat, or develop a backbone and say to yourself, "there is someone out there who would love me for me."

Calmness is a human superpower. The ability to not overreact or take things personally keeps your mind clear and your heart at peace. It’s never too late to change your attitude about something you can’t change. Just decide to make the best of it. Take life day by day and be grateful for the little things. No excuses. Let go of all the purposeless drama, aimless time-wasters, and mental clutter that keeps getting in your way.. Take care of your mind and the way you speak to yourself. Don’t let negative self-talk weaken you. Talk like you are blessed. Walk like you are blessed. Think like you are blessed. Work like you are blessed. And you will be, one way or another. Everything gets a bit uncomfortable when it’s time to change (or when it’s time to recalibrate your expectations). That’s just a part of the growth process. Things will get better. Be patient, and remind yourself that you will never have to force anything that’s truly meant to be. Just do your best, then adopt a “whatever happens, happens” mindset. Don’t try to force things-let go and allow the right blessings to flow.

Count your self lucky mate im in my 50s. My advice to you would be know your self and what you want and stick with it no matter what others say etc. My mistake like many at my age is I went from putting my self first or at joint to a partner to putting partners first and then you can be walked all over. Be fair but kind and do not put your self out to much for others unless they will do the same for you. See your self as a battery with limited energy and hang with people that give you energy not take it from you all the time. Your lifes about you so live it the best you can for you.

"We can't DO our way into feeling good about ourselves". This really hit me. As a child I always felt helpless when it came to helping my mom/others. I was told I could help by DOING chores, or being obedient. As an adult, I've noticed that I only feel momentarily good about myself based on the actions I do and what people say about them. It doesn't last obviously, so this video was an eye opener for me.

I have been hanging out the past few weeks and listening to a handful of your videos while I work on the computer. Your voice is so soothing, but very uplifting and powerful as well. I have a very difficult time with self-image, and it was even the subject of long conversation last night between me and my partner, so I thought it was a little funny that this was the first video on my feed this morning. We got into an agrument last night about being naked. I am not really comfortable being naked, in any compacity outside of a shower or intimacy, and he sees no reason why I should be bothered by it. I, honestly allowed things to go on much longer than they needed to, because that's what I do, but he eventually got frustrated and told me that "You hate yourself so much that you've let yourself image distort everything around you. I'm not even that bad." Something about that and thinking about all of the bs that we have had to deal with this past year together, it made things a little more clear to me. Listening to your video today helped a great deal as well, and I appreciate all of the videos that you have been doing. So many of them have been helping me out recently, and so thank you for all of the help that you give us!

How to build a healthy self image: 1. Manage your thoughts and stop criticizing yourself * notice when you’re criticizing yourself and replace it with something positive 2. Look in the mirror and appreciate what you see * look for things to appreciate and say something positive to yourself 3. Your view of your authentic self is flawed * we don’t like ourselves when we’re inauthentic * your authentic self is beautiful and attractive. People want to see who you really are 4. Make appreciations list * when you write it down, it makes it real * write down things you appreciate about yourself: what are you good at ? 5. Make a recognition list: *what did you do well? * what have you accomplished? * Recognize your successes and growth 5. Let yourself do things you like despite what people might think * Own what you like and dislike *You can’t control what other people think about you 6. Just let yourself be yourself *Who are you outside of your defenses, masks you wear and who you think you should be * Who are you when you have nothing to prove , no one to impress, nothing to earn ? You’re just You You are good enough and anyone who tells you otherwise is lying. Being good enough doesn’t mean we don’t have to have room to grow. Worth and growth are completely different things. I hope this helps someone ❤

Something that really helped was asking myself, "Who am I when I'm not worried about other people?" I feel like I always turn it into something so complex that tire myself out, when really, it's just who I am behind closed doors and when I'm having fun- Thank you so much

Your description of standing in front of mirror naked and going through body parts and how they have helped us is so moving. Almost had me in tears. In her book Dying To Be Me, Anita Moorjani, who had a near death experience and came back to life, says this very same thing. Her biggest message to all humans is to love yourself as fully and completely as you can. She has a KZread channel as well with all this info. Thank you so much for your channel. Your videos are absolutely phenomenal. I love and appreciate you! ❤️

I just started listening to your KZread videos last night. I just broke up with ANOTHER narcissist. I’m an empath and attract them like crazy. Also, my mother was a narcissist so I consider their characteristics as being normal. But, once their crazy comes out and they expose themselves, I leave like a bat out of hell. Lol......yes, you do have to keep a sense of humor. I like myself a lot but I watch your videos because I need to work on boundaries and not being so nice. I know I am getting better at these things but any advice is useful. I want to say that the first videos I saw of yours that you looked stressed and I wasn’t sure. But, like you said in this video, the more authentic you started coming out. I really like you too. You do a great job and provide those of us that want to improve our lives with great information and you are very genuine. So, thank you.

Thank you for sharing this. I have been struggling with my identity since I was a child and was abused as well. All of this has made me hide who I am and not be truly myself most of the time and I have lost a lot of precious time. Working harder than ever to heal all of this now.

I identify with at least one or more points in each of your sessions. Thank you for sharing yourself and your gifts. I always end calls and conversations with “Take good care.” When I heard you use this same sign off I knew I could be comfortable and yield myself to your series. Thank you very much. She is first and foremost HERSELF which is so magnetizing and she writes her own music which is not easy at all.. so much talent there!! Anyways I also want to say thank you to YOU! I've only watched a few of your videos and I am already feeling far better about myself! Thank you so much!!!
