Back in the day, when I purchased my first home to live-in; that was Miami in the early 1990s, first mortgages with rates of 8 to 9% and 9% to 10% were typical. People will have to accept the possibility that we won't ever return to 3%. If sellers must sell, home prices will have to decline, and lower evaluations will follow. Pretty sure I'm not alone in my chain of thoughts.

If anything, it'll get worse. Very soon, affordable housing will no longer be affordable. So anything anyone want to do, I will advise they do it now because the prices today will look like dips tomorrow. Until the Fed clamps down even further, I think we're going to see hysteria due to rampant inflation. You can't halfway rip the band-aid off.

Home prices will come down eventually, but for now; get your money (as much as you can) out of the housing market and get into the financial markets or gold. The new mortgage rates are crazy, add to that the recession and the fact that mortgage guidelines are getting more difficult. Home prices will need to fall by a minimum of 40% (more like 50%) before the market normalizes. If you are in cross roads or need sincere advise on the best moves to take now its best you seek an independent advisor who knows about the financial markets.

It amazes me greatly how I go from living an average lifestyle to making over £63k monthly, utter shock is the word. I've learned a lot in the past few years to doubt that there are plenty of opportunities abound in the financial markets; the only thing is know where to focus.. Thanks to John Desmond Heppolette.

4.75% is the current interest rate (8th rate hike since March last year) My issue is: How do older citizens retire and live off such an unstable economy, with inflation at 7%, mortgage rates at over 7.5%, but the minimum wage remaining constant? My retirement portfolio has suffered greatly over the past few years. It is clear that at this time, I am not in it for the long haul.

My belief is that making a wise investment is a fantastic way to save money for the future as well as a way to generate passive income. Those who make poor mistakes early in life regret them later in life. But, if done alone, investing may be challenging and risky. For this reason, I suggest consulting experts for advice (financial advisors). The difficulty lies in effectively employing it, not just watching videos and reading investing books.

@@briansanchez9663 Hello! My advice would be to go to a local Open House and meet with a realtor. Possibly establish a Saturday that you go out and attempt to meet a handful of realtors.

Many investors/traders advice - that at the start of the bear market, you should sell and buy later on. My question - How do they know at the beginning of the correction - whether stocks would fall by 5%, 10%, 20%, 30% or more?

@@harryli7476 I recommend until you are ready to go full time or while studying for the license spend some weekend or evening hours. Even small things that can help an agent (future mentor, team member) showing you are a team player and asset. Always be of the mindset how can I provide value? Once you have a license I recommend willing to do a weekend open house for a listing agent. Lets you learn on the job, provide value to your team, and if you meet new people who could be potential clients for yourself!

Managing money is different from accumulating wealth, and the lack of investment education in schools may explain why people struggle to maintain their financial gains. The examples you provided are relevant, and I personally benefited from the market crisis, as I embrace challenging times while others tend to avoid them.
