How to bathe a Maine Coon cat.

Maine Coon cats are most often not afraid of water and bathing them is not a big problem. You can of course find exceptions both ways. As you can see, our Impact does not care much about it, and you could even say that he enjoys it.
We use different products depending on the circumstances, what you see is normal cat bathing, for example preparing a cat for a show would require different shampoos and tools.

Since some of our cats are extremely large ( Impact is our biggest cat ), we use a fairly large automatic dryer. For average-size Maine Coon cats you can use a smaller dryer.

By the way, for some cats drying is much more terrible than bathing and in such cases the automatic dryer works great.

My Maine coon likes to be kissed when I bathe her Maine Coon cats are so like having a dog, they are so easy going they love you so much Lady Pandora my girl loves to be kissed and she gives beautiful kisses.

Our cats love water. Maine coons are like that they love to play in the water and they love to be in the water. I don’t think they get cold because they have an extra layer of fur , their feet are fuzzy, and their ears are fuzzy that’s why they are such good cats for Maine. We live at about 4500 feet and they’re never cold in fact the first thing they ask for in the morning is to have all the windows open. Well what I particularly love about these cats as they get along with kids, other cats and dogs and they’re just so easy-going. We have rescues - both puppies and kittens and our cats “mother” these babies. ❤️

Each of the last two I've had were completely at ease with "bathies".
I don’t know humans that are that well behaved when they’re getting a bath LOL what a magnificent creature💕
There is no way my cat would stand for that... no matter how many times I kissed him on the nose ❤️🐈⬛

And rose petals thrown under his noble paws when he steps out of the bath (or when his servants lift his Majesty out of the bath). Then he’ll feast on the freshest salmon served on a silver platter, just after his pedicure or “pawdicure”!👑

He absolutely loves getting a bath and getting pampered and I adore how you give kisses.
Impact is a patient pro, and he stepped into the tub by himself! He is really amazing!!! 👌👌❤️❤️❤️🌺🌺🌺
I have 4 cats, and everyone of them would run a mile even at the sight of a dripping tap 💧 Amazed at how he seems to enjoy bath time so much 😻 beautiful boy.
My favorite part was "Kiss the cat on the nose-twice."

They probably get warm milk afterwards, mine did. Mine learned he felt better after a bath, so he seemed to appreciate a bath. Especially when he got home from staying at Grandpas where he could be outside.

Not only are they majestic....they are bathed like royalty. The cat actually walked on his own into his bathing chamber!!! My cat would have been wrapped around my head clawing like a demon if I dared to spray water on it.
That cat dryer is fancy! He's so chilled out.
His meow sounded like a meow and purrr blended together 🧡 so much devotion on your part and so much enjoyment and patience on his 😊

That was amazing; the cat seemed to actually enjoy a lot of it. My little random-bred tortie shorthair explodes so spectacularly that the vet/boarding facility actually has a "Do not attempt to bathe" note in her folder. I had a roommate who'd simply take his Maine Coon cat into the shower with him. I questioned his judgement at the time, but apparently the cat never even protested.
Impact join the shower alone.🤣🤣. He knows what to expect and he likes it. Many kisses on his pretty pink nose.🐱😘💖
this was oddly satisfying for me and I don't even have a cat. This the royal spa treatment for spoiled cats and The carwash style dryer at the end was the best . He even walked into the wash area by himself. I see why they are called gentle giants
The cat reminds of my second cat. My cat wasn’t a Maine Coon. He was very sweet and friendly cat. My cat liked to be petted everywhere on his body. He was a big American shorthair red tabby cat.

He looks like he loves bath time. I have a big fluffy Ragdoll that’s a white fire tipped. His coat feels like cashmere. He is a long hair with sky blue eyes. Of course he is my big baby.

Impact is one very clean kitty - at least for now! Gorgeous. My hubby wants a human sized dryer like that!

Mr Impact is in love with his bath time
Cats and dogs have a separate little space. It's where the hold our heart in their keeping.
So that's what his meow sounds like. A good throaty and healthy sound.
He really does seem to enjoy it...well tolerate some parts and enjoy the massage parts and nose-kisses. ❤❤❤😊
Heck, it's taken Romeo, my MC, 3 three and a half years to get used to me towel drying him after he's been out in the rain. I don't think he'd take too well to an actual bath. He does however, wash his paws in his water bowl, which is so gorgeous to see. The more I watch your Impact, Robert, the more my heart melts. He is just delicious 💕💕💕💕💕🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂😻😻😻😻😻

I love how he just sits there loving the massage. I don't know, I think Howard would get a bit impatient. I don't think he would like the dryer at all. Impact looks like he is in a wine fridge and not to sure of it either!😺

It's all about how we introduce something new, our energy while doing so, and then maintain it. My cats, dogs & rabbits love carriers & their Vets. They actually sense when they are going and get all happy and excited. Even Mr Vivo is good about bathing. He may not be crazy about a specific part, maybe the water, but the massage is pleasurable. This kitty loves it all.
What a magnificent animal! I have never in my 45+yrs have I seen ANY cat that would just stand for anything water-related, she/he seemed to like it. Your videos are exquisite. Thank you for all your hard work!

That is the first Video, I say hmm must I do that 🤔, our both love water but they are always in the house or balcony. The get daily a brush sometimes all 2 days but we are thinking there is no need for that. Our Pet Doc and where we get them from say the same. I see the Coonie feel well so everything is fine. And by the way a Coonie in wet looks always bigger than all other Cats 🤣 Thanks for showing us 👍

Of course, you don't have to if you don't need to. Actually, we only bathe our cats when necessary, but because they have access to an outdoor run, sometimes it is simply necessary. And that's the way we do it.

These are pure breeds, and they start grooming them at the age that's safe, and therefore they do enjoy the attention and loving they receive. Remember most Maine Coons are gentle giants and love being in the center of attention and clean.

I’ve never seen a cat that seems to totally enjoy getting a bath. He knows his bath 🛁 means tons of attention & endless massages! And above all: Kisses. So many different shampoos/creams applied & he didn’t mind a bit! With that setup, it looks a lot easier to bathe them. I had to show my husband the “blow dryer.” It looked like a microwave turned into the ultimate drying tool! Thanks for sharing!
