How to Bank fish with a Senko on a new lake
Спорт
I go through the ABC's that I recommend for the best way to bank fish with a Senko on a strange Lake! Counting down, to determine the pattern depth, holding a high rod for the maximum feel of the bottom and the strikes, a quick hook set so as to not gut hook the bass, hooking the senko backwards for an extra fish or two and starting out at the dam in the deeper water by the overflow are all key recommendations that I believe an effective bank fisherman should master!

@@samfiadrangus9188 he may be aging (aren't we all?) but the man is a treasure and taught me more about fishing than any other angler from my childhood. He's great, if you like Roland's content you'll most likely enjoy Richard Gene the fishing machine, (kzread.info) imo. His videos are extremely entertaining 😂. I think Richard fits into the group of great fisherman who can still out fish 98% of the population.
I love watching him fish. He has probably forgotten more about bass fishing than all of us in these comments know about bass fishing. A true legend and a true master.

I FULLY agree with you! Watching him has made me a far better bass angler i ever would have been without his advice. The senko/yum dinger has become my favourite lure. His advice work anywhere in the world, even here in South Africa.
His voice and demeanor is so peaceful and comforting
Roland is probably my favorite bass fisherman. Just so positive and calm the whole time.
Can watch and listen to Mr Roland talk about fish and catch fish all day long! His knowledge on bass fishing is amazing!

roland makes it look easy. catches more bass in one video than i did the whole year of bass fishing
This guy is the grandpa I never had to teach me old wise fish tricks lol absolutely love it!!
Roland you should have 139 million subscribers not 139K. You're a true legend. Thank you for everything you've done for the sport of fishing!
So much fun watching a living legend just out having a good time doing what he loves!
On the bank or in a boat, Mr. Martin you are the the GOAT of bass fishing in my opinion. I catch more bass from the bank using the senko and only the senko because I watched your videos. Thanks a million.
Roland, you don't go fishing, you go catching. Holy hell man
A absolute legend. I remember being 9 years old and sitting cross legged in front of a big floor model tv Saturday mornings ESPN to watch him catch big bass. I'm 38 now and he's still at it.

I remember the same thing! I loved ESPN outdoors. I loved watching the guys catch pike and muskies. I’m from the south and we didn’t have those fish to catch, only bass, catfish and bluegill. I was always fascinated with bass fishing despite living right on the ocean in Va. Beach with outer banks only half hour away. My old man was a hard core salt guy. Sure we caught lots of huge striper and fluke and then off shore we’d catch tons and tons of mahi, by my heart was always fishing in the swamps and ponds for bass. Edit to add: I was born in ‘83. We were lucky to be born at the time we did.
It’s like catching fish in a bathtub! I wish I had “strange” lakes in my area. 😂. Great to see Roland shoreline fishing! 👍🏼

2years ago I got my first Senko bass thanks to Roland and his tips. Now days I like trying other lures but if I think I’m getting skunk for the day I always turn back to Senko. It never fails even if is just a tiny one a fish is a fish lol
I’ve learned so much watching you Mr. Martin! Thank you for teaching me.
I love watching Roland Martin and his son Scott
I am 72 years old and it is nice to have someone teach you something about fishing. I have wet a hook all my life but never really knew what I was doing right or wrong. Mr. R
I like how you get them unhooked and back in the water - none of that draggin em all over the bank, waiving em in front of the camera for mug shots...its in and out. Thanks Roland

Mr. Martin, I ALWAYS learn from your how-to videos. Thank you so much! Today you taught me that I have all the right gear to go hook 'em and the best way to hooksett 'em. It doesn't get any better than that! If someone asks me, "Who taught you how to do that? That really works!" I'm going to proudly say, "Roland Martin did!" 👍 Yes, true enought 😊🥰.
True OG! Watch and learn. Awesome video
Love the info Roland! Keep them videos coming thank you sir!
Awesome, Roland! Another amazing day on the lake.
It amazes me how you remember all of the numbers of the worms colors
Hi Roland, I decided to try this senko rig today. Found some shallow areas just like you did and used your same technique. Caught a nice 2.5 pounder! Thank you for your videos.
The only pro angler that has made fishing look easy since I was a child. Always teaching too.
Love to see the excitement in your face even after catching thousands of fish.
Thank you Mr. Martin for your entertaining and helpful videos 👍😎. I really enjoy your style of things and valuable tips gathered over many years of fishing. I hope you continue to post videos for years to come.
Glad to see you’re still able to do what you like to do
This guy is awesome. So full of wisdom and passion. Thanks for the video!
Roland is a great ambassador of the sport and a master bass fisherman. Not to mention funny as hell
I've never seen anyone bury the barb of the hook slightly under the worm. I've always seen the barb put thru the bottom of the worm then back up and bury the barb into the top of the worm. His way seemed like such an easy method just plant of the barb into the bottom no need to go up and thru. The worm lays super flat where as the other method you do have to play with it a little. Hope I made sense, thanks Mr. Martin always watch you when I see you. You are the KING of bass fishing!

I saw another youtuber do the way this guy does it . I like this way better. the hook comes out of the worm at the strike. When you barely bury it the old way it comes out to easy I think.
Thank you Roland!!! You are a national treasure!!!
I've never had a day like this gentleman. Experience is an amazing thing, congrats good sir.

Great tips Mr Martin I'm definitely gonna use them.....Thanks!!!!!😁😁
Love this post. Thank you. My very first bass was caught on a plain purple plastic worm with a light slip sinker. Didn't have scales to weight it but it probably went about 4LBS. It was in a farm pond near my home. Oh, I grew up watching Roland Martin and Bill Dance. Love these guys.
Thanks Roland for years of fishing advice
Snice I stared using senkos this year .. unbelievable results !! thanks Roland
Roland: put Senko on, cast it, catch 5 pounder, repeat. Legend.

Good to see you fishing in any conditions. Great capture filming a large fish along with the smaller one. It took me awhile to feel a bass pecking on the lure. Glad to see you enjoy catching a one pound bass or a ten pound bass. Always fun to catch a Big O.
Love watching Roland set the hook
Awesome job as always sir. Lord's willing I will teach my wife how to fish a baitcaster this year.

Growing up in CA I used to watch Roland Martin on T.V. At that time I was a regular Saltwater fish man and never perfected the art of freshwater fishing. March of 2020 my family and I moved to MI and I began working on my freshwater game. Roland Martin videos on KZread have really given me insight. I am now 54 and have my 15 year old son hooked as well. Catching 2-3 lb Bass from shore pretty regular now. Thank you Roland for sharing your insight. Hoping to learn alot more from you!
