If you don't bring pepto from home you can buy Treda anywhere in Mexico. Like most things in Mexico it is extra strength. It will stop your troubles in its tracks better than anything else I've ever had. BTW I love and want that Chisox sombrero Tshirt!

Like Kevin said check for hygiene. If you notice anything sketchy hygiene-wise in the food establishment, do not consume anything. My husband and I got food poisoning in the Philippines. My husband got it worse and he thought it was the end for him. I read that taking probiotics the whole week before the trip helps prevent severe travellers diarrhea.

Great video topic! In my previous travels, I have taken Dukoral before travelling it is a liquid where you take 2 separate doses a few weeks before travel. I only ever got sick once in India in the Punjab likely from the rich butter in everything they eat. In LatAm, I got super sick for 2 days in San Pancho (just north of Sayulita) from a burger from one of the beach front restaurants. I resorted to drinking fresh ginger teas morning, noon, and night. And slowly introduced things like saltines, apple sauce, and believe it or not, Mr. Noodle cup a soup! I also increased my electrolyte intake w the pedialite type drinks they sell in Mexico. I doubled up on probiotics and magnesium. A good high quality probiotic is important! Even after you return from a trip, it is good to do a double dose of probiotics for a week or 2 after returning to help your tummy reset.

I had severe stomach cramps, and diarrhea all the time. After thinking it was because of the water or poorly refrigerated food there, I made a change. I figured I'd only drink Corona beer, because I knew it was distilled, and only ate fish. It worked but I lost a lot of weight. Corona beer is light with a very low alcohol content, so it was OK. Fish is fish, and if fresh and caught in the ocean, it will not make you sick. This worked for me, and if I go again it will be with some very strong antibiotics. I'd bring Amoxicillin and Ceph. Id come prepared. Funny thing is in my country, I can eat "anything" from bad meat ( smelly) and not get sick. I guess there's certain microbes or bacteria there, that my system can't handle. Beautiful place though with gorgeous beaches, as I stayed beside the ocean. I have heard of people just about dying from the food there, so be careful. I lost about 10 lbs because I didn't eat much, so I felt skinny and weak, but was too scared to eat, and the stomach pains were terrible.

ouch! that sounds rough. Another tip could be to take probiotic supplements 2 weeks before your trip and during to prep your stomach as well as take activated charcoal pills to absorb any bad bacteria or toxins. That is, if you do decide to revisit and want to be able to enjoy the food :) I hope that never happens to you again!

Street food is common in Mexico and most of the time it’s very fresh and delicious but there could be a risk of cross-contamination because if you eat foods like tacos you will use your hands after touching the salsa utensils that everybody touched. 🤷🏻‍♂️ it’s always helpful to bring your little bottle of hand sanitizer to kill the germs before you eat with your hands 🙌 👍✌️

Great advice! Never drink tape water..MX has some of the best bottled SPRING WATER on the planet. The Kinetic Kennons ( outstanding vlogers) now MX residents but from S TX did a vid on lower track body issues 3-4 months ago. They had been traveling MX for several years. They just discovered there is a pill that will prevent most indigestion issues. They were very surprised Don't remember the name but will look for that vlog later on. I've never had major issues in Mexico ( tequila kills everything 🤣) but I will get that pill on my next trip. Think it's effective for 6 months.👍 Some of the best medical care in the America's and reasonablely price in in MX. Many people on W Coast drive or fly into MX for medical and dental treatment.

Moctezumas Revenge? That’s the smallest of problems one can get in Mexico. Becoming chronically ill for the rest of your life, getting your life ruined is what you need to worry about. Poisoning that damages your kidneys, your heart, your muscles and damages you neurologically is what you need to worry about. Before having to go to Mexico for work, I was a high energy person who could outwork almost anyone. Coming back after contracting some sort of pathogen, I am now chronically ill and almost unable to work due to severe fatigue. Never again Mexico. Sorry….. but Mexico screwed it with me!!
