How to Avoid Hair Loss, Promote Hair Growth and Strengthen the Thyroid and Bones

Hair loss occurs in not just men, but in women and children as well. There are alternatives to promote lustrous hair growth besides taking pharmaceuticals or getting steroid injections into the scalp. This video discusses those alternatives, but as usual, with any health issue we must tackle it by first finding the underlying causes.
This video describes how weakened bone tissue, a weak thyroid gland, a diet lacking in whole milk, low in iron and/or animal protein can all make the hair fall out. And also addressed is what weakens the thyroid in the first place: high levels of stress, mercury, fluoride in the drinking water, high Vata, and a diet too low in animal protein.
It’s important to know that there is a whole world of herbs used in Ayurveda to promote hair growth, strengthen the thyroid and the bones and how to change your diet to give your hair follicles every opportunity to grow. The use of therapeutic herbalized oils applied directly to the scalp can both cool down the heat in the hair follicles and promote the growth of the hair.
Find out exactly why birth control pills can indirectly cause hair loss by weakening the thyroid and why the cortisol released from our adrenal glands under periods of prolonged stress can also weaken the hair follicles, causing thinning of the hair.

Eat beef liver × eggs. On a grass fed meat based diet. It made my hair stop falling out. Now i only lose a few hairs - like 2 or 3 hairs - when i wash it. Before it was big clumps that blocked the drain.

Six years ago I went through an extremely, life-changing traumatic event. Not only did my hair start (and continues) to fall out majorly, but I also developed pretty bad diabetes that required insulin. My hair also became very dry and brittle, whereas before it was thick and lustrous. Lots of health problems I'm trying to learn to fix, without pharmaceuticals. Thank you for this very informative information. I'm going to watch it again and take notes.

I just ran into this video and found it very informative. It has been long-known that chemicals in our diets disrupt the thyroid. One little known dangerous class of chemicals are perchlorates. Very widely used in the industrialized economies, urban communities are especially vulnerable to the presence of perchlorates, which are difficult to remove from drinking water.

Thank you Dr. T. This was useful info. I notice my hair falls like leaves of a tree in the Fall, espeically this summer/fall where the high temps in the midwest lasted a whole month longer than usual. I would also be interested in hearing you talk about external factors like hair coloring. The commercial coloring is made exclusively with chemicals and therefore terrible for the scalp/health. What kind of hair coloring would not be harmful to your health? Thanks again!

Hi Katherine. Thank you for your comments and question. Toxins from outside the body are known as gar visha and are highly acidic and may cause harm to the delicate hair follicle. Try to find a more natural hair coloring brand -- I have seen several in the natural food stores. But even still, try to avoid putting it directly on the scalp, and leave it on for less time than is called for on the package to decrease the absorption of it into the cells of the scalp. Whatever we put on our skin and scalp gets absorbed into the blood in about 20 minutes, so try to keep it on for 10-15 minutes.

I used to put fresh cilantro in my smoothies but I have stopped drinking smoothy because you said it is bad for digestion and better to consume warm drinks. I dont know how else to consume cilantro to help pull mercury out of body.
