Nice video. I managed the refueling department in Buffalo for 39 years. The A-350 was not making trips to KBUF at the time of my retirement. Sure brought back some good memories. Never fueled they A-350 but then again when I started I was fueling DC-6's, Fokker F-100's, BAC-111's, L-1011's, and B-707's! Thanks for the video, keep them coming. You can trust your ass to the guy who pumps your gas!

I’ve watch a lot of A350 and I’m still surprised by the size of the aircraft. Seeing the refuel rig and person under the wing gives you the scale 😂

Is it required to always select MAN REFUEL to relieve pressure from the refuel gallery? I am not aware of this procedure for other Airbus aircraft.

No, it is not required, the fueler can relieve pressure into a small tank on the truck. We just help them out, so the tank doesn’t fill up to fast. Plenty of room in the aircraft to off load an extra liter or so.

Depends on load and flight routes. Pilots will get a flight plan, this will have the fuel load of the flight. Then weather and some other items are checked and then they determine how much they take.

On a sidenote, there's provision in Airbus aircrafts to set the fuel from the aircraft.

Hi, yes it’s an option you can add to the aircraft, then fuel can be set by the cockpit, I have only seen it with one operator. Still you need to switch the fueling on. A380 had the opportunity to be fueled fully from the cockpit without using the refueling panel.

How do you know how much fuel the aircraft needs ?

Fuel figures are give by flight crew, depending what the flight plan needs.
