CoryBaker92 When I put Pecard on my Indy bullwhip, I "cake" in onto the plaiting (mainly to darken it). From my experience, doing it in a warm room, or outside, will allow the leather to soak in what is needed while the excess sits between the strands; as it continues to evaporate, wipe it every 15-30 minutes with a rag. Using a rag is rough enough to grab the leftover dressing yet soft enough to still preserve the leather and not scratch it. You might have to wipe it a few times (mine took an entire day once) but for a highly dressed whip, that is one way to do so.

Blake's conditioner is actually made in Australia by a company that will put your own label on their product, so if you do a bit of research, you can probably find it...

Thank you. I just purchased my first real whip and I want to make sure it lasts for a long time.

I got one of Blake’s Indy whips about 8 or so years ago and now just received another one from Blake today and I got to say that he makes an incredible bullwhip!

I have an 8 foot 8 plait black bullwhip, the whip I use to have was a 14 foot and 4 plait, it was a little heavy to use so the new one I got works better and a little lighter so I'm learning how to do some lessons with the new whip

Hi Cory...do you happen to know what Blake uses in his leather conditioner? I'm wondering if it's glycerin based...or something else. Any info you might have would be greatly appreciated.

I’d imagine the easiest way to get the stuff out of the cracks of your whip would be to get a thin blade and pick it out carefully. Unless it’s not solid in which you could probably get a thin cloth or cotton swab and clean it out.

If there’s any excess just run your hands down the wip and it will all spend out. Don’t want any big bits on the whip

Not really. Wait to crack it in the warm and dry months. Buy a synthetic whip for the wet season
