Hi , could you guide regarding difference between clinical fellowship & MTI for coming to uk , which one would be better ?

They both are more or less same. Difference is in the type of visa offered. Clinical fellowships usually offer Health care visa (tier 2) so you could extend your stay. MTI is generally tier 5 visa, so you have to either go back after 2 years, or extend by going back to your home country.

Candidates for the MRCP(UK) Part 1 Examination must have had at least 12 months' experience in medical employment by the date of the examination, i.e. must have completed Foundation Year 1 or equivalent. Which speciality is the pg in?

Even I had a gap of 6 weeks. Since I changed cities, I gave then family reasons & that it takes time to get transferred. They were OK with it.

i have done 12 months internship from delhi ,but medicine and surgery only 1 and half months each ,with optho ent 15 days..will they accept this plz reply?/

Yes should be OK, ophthalmology, ent all are surgical specialities only.

Yes you could apply for a gmc account. You would have to call gmc once you have made the online application.

Hello. Went through your video but I have an query to ask. In last 5 years, i have 2 years of experience and then later 3 years of gap. In Aug2022 i gave Plab1, And joined clinical job from September. If it will take 1 year for me to apply for GMC registration, i will have 1yr of Experience+3yr of non-experience+ recent 1yr of experience (total 2yrs of experience from recent 5yrs). I am afraid that I can't meet 3years of experience. Is there anything that I can do? Please Help me. Thank you in advance.

If u r planning to via come plab route, gaps in employment won't matter much.

I think u have a justifiable reason, so should be ok. If needed you could liaise with the GMC team directly but I think should be ok. I had a gap of about 3 months during my internship, they asked me the reason & I explained. It went well. Best wishes.

Sir I just completed my 5 year degree now 1 year internship/house Job time but I can't go back to China due to corona. I'm from Bangladesh and in Bangladesh we can't do internship as an IMG before passing FMGE. So if I do internship 2 years later in my country by passing FMGE will it affect on my full GMC registration?

Not for sponsorship. Only plab or royal college membership exams.

Thanks for this lovely video. Very informative! I'll be applying in 2-3 days for GMC registration (sponsorship route_RCPath). I graduated in 2007, but I've a clinical gaps of 3 months (reason _family). Rest I've continued medical practice to date. How to convince College about this 3 months gap so that they do not reject my application? And good suggestions please! Thanks

Hi I have completed my MRCpsych in Feb 2022 , am yet to start the process of GMC registration.However in the last 5 years I have had a career break of around 6-7 months in 2020.Will I still have to explain the gap since I have completed the membership exam recently which invariably proves my knowledge n clinical skill is upto date Kindly share your insight regarding this ,havent been able to find a conclusive answer regarding it.Thanks

Hi Lisa, Hope you are well. Career gaps are accepted as long as you can justify them. Taking time off for family, personal wellbeing, personal health, doing courses all are valid reasons. Covid & maternity are also well accepted reasons. You've completed full membership exam, they won't bother you much 🙂 Hope this helps. Aman

No internship in excluded. Depends on what gmc is asking, varies from the liason officer.

Is having gaps during medical curriculum or post internship too heavily scrutinized? How can this be overcome in the interviews/applications?

They are actually. If u coming via plab/royal college exams it doesn't matter much, but if coming via sponsorship they have a stringent criteria.

I have cleared my mrcp, so while applying what all documents should I be sending to GMC Email in a pdf file? My Passport, my PMQ, my IELTS scoresheet, My acceptable PG qualification? Do we need to send MBBS Transcript as well, stating the duration spent in Surgery and Medicine etc.? And do we need to upload Internship Completion certificate as well?

Hello, PMQ would still be the base for the registration, so you would need the mbbs transcripts & internship details. Rest the gmc would ask you for any other documents if they need.

You could, but keep the passport safe with out even if has expired till u get your gmc. Or Eventually you would be renewing your passport, please do it early & then get the gmc account.

Only mti would grant a reg with part1, however if u finish part 2 that would also make u eligible for gmc via membership pathway

For foundation year doctors it is 157, for fully qualified doctors starting for junior or senior clinical fellow or trust grade jobs & above one would pay 408 pounds.

There is new discount fee for newly qualified doctors ( means those who graduated within last 5 years) which is £161 . its a new rule since April 2022. For provisional its only £53. From April 2021 to April 2022 full registration fees was £157 and for provisional £52.

I have got an e-mail regarding GMC registration mentioning that since 2019 you are working with full mental capacity in a particular hospital but you haven’t provided us registration. Hello Dr Ola, hope you are well. U are not eligible for sponsorship you still have 2 options. 1. Plab - you don't need gmc prior applying & sitting for plab exams. 2. Royal college membership exams - whichever speciality you are interested in read about the that Royal college & start preparing for those exams e.g. u are interested in Medicine, write mrcp1 followed by mrcp2, then paces. Once you have all the 3 exams cleared then you get gmc. Hope this helps

I was told that PLAB is much easier to pass than the mrcog/mrcs.

Hello You would need certificate of good standing from medical Council - both states n MCI. Epic verification & English exam. That's it.
