GMC Registration Pathways for the IMG Doctors / Post Grad qualification route / MTI / Sponsorship
There are several pathways to get the GMC registration.
The most common for junior doctors is the PLAB exam.
However, the doctors will also use other common pathways to get the GMC registration.
In this video, I have explained the pathways of the postgrad qualification route to, MTI and sponsorship route with some examples.

Sir I cleared MRCEM and I would like to know if the MTI pathway would benefit me in any way to get into ST4 level later ? Or will it atleast show 3 years of specialist work experience to get a job in UAE? Kindly guide me
If you have already got gmc registration can you follow MTI or sponsorship route. Is it possible eg to pass MRCP and not apply for gmc registration. Can they follow MTI or sponsorship route.

Why would you do that? you are at an advantage of applying for jobs with GMC registration and the MTI.

Assalam-o-alaikum I am MRCSEd Accident and Emergency since 2009. I am interested to have GMC registration without a license to practice. I want to practice UK after few years. I want to know my eligibility. Do I need to have PLAB ?

Aoa Dr Adnan. Thank you for an insightful video. I graduated in 2008 . Have 4-5 year experience in non trainee psychiatry jobs. I have a Master in Psychiatry from Cardiff University along with dissertation. I have a Certificate in global mental health n research from Havard medical university and a pass in MRCPsych paper A and B . I have until 2026 to take the Casc exam. But since I am based in GCC , my career is stalled as there is preference for Arab doctors. I am on the verge of giving up my psychiatry profession . I am a mother of small kids. Any guidance on my career as I feel very disappointed and depressed .
