My daughters birth certificate had mention of both parents. When I called service Canada for clarification they asked me to send long form as that is attested so I forwarded both the copies. Hope this helps

Every part in the application that requires the signature of the parent, it does not let me sign the document electronically. I always sign my pdf documents using the e-sign feature on my Mac but for some reason this PDF document that I have downloaded from the link you mentioned has some limited permissions that does not let me sign the document electronically. Are we supposed to take a print out and sign the document in person at the Service Canada or the passport office?

The process is time consuming as you will need signature/attestation from competent authorities

When you submitted the passport application form do you need to have QR barcode when you printed? I am confuse some people have barcode on form some people don't have barcode on form.

Yes the other parent can provided they meet the requirement given. If you’re the parent or legal guardian that is applying on behalf of a child, you cannot sign as guarantor on the child’s application. Hi best would be to call BLS for this. Make sure you note agent name, time and date when you speak and process application accordingly

If we go in person, both parents have to be present to submit the application? In my child application, I am the prime applicant and other parent signed on form, but she won't be able to come to the office. Is it okay if I only go as a main applicant?

When it come to submission any of the parents can submit the application. Not a mandate that both parents need to submit/primary only can submit. Since you are the primary applicant you can carry the application and if not carry application with a letter from primary applicant. Hope this helps

Only one print is fine. I took additional page where thumb impression of child was required so the best page could be sent

I took photo at Walmart. You cannot take photo at home for Canadian passport I have mentioned in video the reason I got while I spoke to officials on phone. For OCI there is no restrictions except specifications.

Hi I am sure there is workaround as many parents are in this situation. Can you call BLS on how to proceed. By logic undertaking from one parent should be acceptable in your case

Your guarantor can be anyone who meets the basic guarantor requirements for a regular (blue) passport in Canada, including a family member or member of your household. Your husband can be guarantor

@@canadatriedandtestedoriginal Thanks for replying but There is a clause in the instructions- (Guarantor should hold a 5-year or a 10-year Canadian passport) How do I interpret this sentence- does it mean the date of issue in their canadian passport should be issued 5 years before in 2017 only then they can be guarantor or does that sentence interpret when they applied for passport they had applied for 5 year or 10 year passport validity. As my husband got only in 2021 so I’m not sure if he can be Guarantor.

Hi Rachna, that shouldn’t be a problem. Just call service Canada number and ask this question. There are many in the same boat. In absence of other parents they will tell you the document required. Hope this helps

Hi can you try 2-3 times. Also call service Canada to check if there is any issue at their end. Also check with them on your question. In absence of QR code it should still be accepted only thing is that QR code makes transfer easy or else manual entry need to be made by the operator receiving application.

I think you need adobe pdf for this. Can you try using the free trial they have for 7 days but remember to cancel subscription. LMK if you are still stuck

+jas randhawa I will share how it happened in my case. Canada post dropped a card in my box with address where I had to go with ID proof and collect. This location was closest to my home and while it said 15 days I got it in 10 days. Sometimes it takes a little more but should be on its way. Hope it’s in your hand soon.
