Information is helpful. Recently applied for our baby’s passport, you don’t need references if you have a guarantor . It doesn’t matter if you lived in Canada for 2 years or few months. I hope it helps to those looking for information.

Great video. I just applied for my baby’s passport. I didn’t put the date and signed at in the section the child would have signed but I did everything else I hope that will not be a problem. 🤞🏽. Very informative video thanks

Hi Banipreet, I had gone through lot of videos on newborn passport but the way you explained, nobody has done as perfect as you. Kudos👍. I have a newborn who is only 45 days old and we are in newfoundland and labrador. My question is related to gurantor, whether the person can be Uncle or Aunt ( family member)who is canadian citizen but has different surname not as parent ? 2) When we submit birth certificate original (long form birth certificate ) is it safe and along with passport return back from their side they submit back the birth certificate as well right?

Thanks 💛 1. You cannot take family member as a guarantor but if the surname is different then nobody gets to know, so you can play along. 2. Yes don't worry, it ll be returned to you with the passport and if by any chance your application gets rejected, still they ll return you back the originals.

1.Did you post photo on form? 2.with stamp or without stamp? Because I had two photos from Walmart and they just stamped one photo.

Yes, the guarantor needs to be a Canadian citizen and a new born can apply for a passport, with no restriction.

Hi, on one of the photos where photo lab has not stamped, the guarantor signed. So now we have guarantor signature on both photos. Can we still submit the photos? will that be an issue in processing the application?

U can do both ways but for the signature u have to take the print out first

Yes

Other parent can be a guarantor if is a Canadian Citizen with valid passport, Guarantor cannot be a family member is incorrect information here.
