This is a smart set up! Thank you for making this video. I've been looking at different ways to heat my shop. I'm thinking waste oil burner might be the answer to my problem.

Same for my 6.5 Detroit (junk motor, I know) and get great fuel economy and free fuel!

I like your system. I'm looking for ideas, and yours is a good one that I like. I Wonder though who can give you a thump down… I just Don't get it. Anyway, if I understood it right. that system can heat no problem with the cold weather. Tks.

Do you just filter the oil through the shirt and filter in the tank? You don’t cook it, I’ve seen others cook oil for a bit. I don’t really know but I just wanna safely run oil as a fuel system, diesels gettin on the pricier side

I use a pillow case as a filter in a 55gal barrel. Don't know much about refining diesel. Thanks for watching and commenting!!

The idea of cooking it for a bit would be to get water boiled out. Even a very small amount of water can cause issues with a smooth burn. It will cause stuttering and lack of smooth acceleration. Very important to get the water out but a centrifuge also works, it's just expensive.

@@mugivermusclemachines5744nah, that's what's so near. You don't refine anything to Diesel. Used motor oil, used transmission fluid, will burn with zero modifications in diesel engines. They were designed to run on peanut oil, diesel, refined from crude oil, was secondary. But a piece of information that they really don't want people to know, is that a diesel will run on any oils with a similar flashpoint and sufficient hydrocarbon density. Used and filtered motor oil has that. As does used tranny fluid. It's a source of entirely free fuel. I'm looking at pulling carbon dioxide from the air, releasing an oxygen atom thus reducing it to carbon MONoxide, and then hydrogenating it with hydrogen pulled from drinking water. Hydrogenating carbon monoxide yields methanol which burns in a gasoline engine with modifications ONLY to the carb/computer to increase the amount of fuel in a cycle by 29%. But in a flex fuel vehicle, zero mods are needed. Any car that can run on 85%+ ethanol can run on methanol. So it appears I can power my flex fuel town and country with methanol for the cost of some electricity, water, and the cost of the initial setup which appears to be sub $500. I'm really excited. Also looking at getting an old diesel truck and doing what you did with a few dealerships but rather than an oil burner, running my vehicle with it.
