HOW TO AIR LAYER A MAGNOLIA TREE | PROPAGATE MAGNOLIA TREE | MAGNOLIA TRÄD | GARDENING |

WATCH HERE THE HARVESTING & PLANTING OF MAGNOLIA TREE • HARVESTING AND PLANTIN...
Air layering is one of the best ways of propagation or reproducing plants in a year. And it is because if there will be a failure of the procedure then the the branch remains alive. You can make another try again. It is a great way of cloning any tree or plant in your garden. the procedure in air layering is just the same in any type of fruit tree or plant that you will air layer. Of course there are some plant that cannot be air layered. But it is worth a try. Spring season is the best season to air layer because the plants during this time are actively growing. You can still do it in any season but it might affect the result.

    Great video for garden and plant lover, Thankyou for sharing your knowledge. I myself live in south of Sweden and I got an old and quiet tall magnolia plant and thinking of air layering it to reduce the height while getting another plant out of it. Does the process the same for old bigger branch as this young branch? Any good rooting hormones you can recommend? Appreciate all the info. Thankyou and keep up the great video 💐

    Hi I love your videos! question how do you water the inside of the air layering pocket if it's a hundred degree weather or 90 degree weather American question I've seen someone usea needle and syringe to put water through the package but how do you know when to do that and how much to do it? Could you do a video on this? Thank you so much for all of your work. You are an inspiration. Texas.

    Hi Jane, thanks for viewing. I don't give water to my marcotted plant. I just see to it that the soil is wet but not dripping water and make it sure that it is tightly tied on both ends so the soil will keep it's moisture until the marcot develop roots. I check it after 4 weeks and when I see that the roots are well develop then I harvest it immediately and not wait because it can dry up. I hope this helps you. I am doing more marcotting now so there will be videos soon. Thanks again.

    Thank you for your easy to follow instructions. I am going to try this. Do I have to wait until after the frost date? For here in North Carolina, USA that is not until April 15.

  • @levabuhay

    Hi! Thanks for watching. You don't have to wait until the frost date. Trees or plants are actively growing on early spring so that is the best time to air layer. I just don't do so early here in Sweden because it is still cold during april but sometimes it can be warm too in April then I will be doing it earlier.

    What is the maximum sized branch with which you can do this?

  • @levabuhay

    @levabuhay

    9 ай бұрын

    Air-layers can vary in size and width from 12 inches long and ¼ inches thick to 3 feet long and 7 inches thick. Smaller air-layers are generally more manageable than larger ones
